| BTW a lot of your questions have already been answered, you must be really bored |
Why does it matter racism can come from both black and white people if they are in a position of power. I feel like parents should be required to take classes on racism before the kids go to school. |
Blacks can be racist against blacks? How is that even possible? |
OMFG please educate yourself! |
security guards can be racist, too, as can teachers. Should we get rid of them, too? |
What did people do before the SRO program? It's not like there have always been armed police officers in schools. |
They can't arrest students and aren't armed. The potential for harm is less. When the police are needed they can be called. They don't need to be on campus all the time. |
No. But we should not give them a gun and arrest powers. Also if a teacher assaults a student they are arrested for assault. If a police officer assaults a student he doesn’t get arrested, or punished or fired or anything. |
Things were fine. The police union started this jobs program for officers that couldn't be assigned more stressful duties. |
First you say SROs shouldn't be there because they can be racist, then you say that they shouldn't be there because the "potential" to cause harm is higher. If they are racist and there is potential to cause harm, then why call them at all? Have there been any incidents where the police used their firearms against a student for no cause? We used to have the police in the building. They would not have needed to be "called". Serious incidents have gone way up this year. If they were on campus all the time, you wouldn't need to call them cause they would already be there, and potentially, there could be less serious incidents. Once again, answer the question.. why do Principals want SROs? Why did the Blair Principal want the cops there after the incident? Why do you anti-SROs NEVER answer that question? Also, why don't you go volunteer in the HSs where there have been some serious incidents and deal with those kids. There are security guards there, but that doesn't seem to be reducing the number of serious incidents. So, why don't you go there and do something about it since you don't want SROs there. |
Things were not fine and not fine now. What alternative do you propose? |
Presumably because they believe the SROs are helpful to them, no? What's your point? Do you support everything principals want, or just this one thing? |
| A kid is incessantly bullied because he is short. Snaps. Brings a knife and stabs another student. Thankfully the other student didn't die. How could this have been avoided? Did we fail the kids by de-escalating? Parents, teachers, others? What can we do better? Let's not make this a political/culture war issue. Some empathy will go a long way...parent of a blair kid here. |
We do answer your stupid questions, you just ignore the answers because you don't like them |
