2017-2018 Specialty Lottery results

Anonymous
Who else is waiting on the results for the Specialty Lottery? The lottery was supposed to be held March 20 with letters mailed on April 1. I keep checking to see when they will update with the lottery result.

I am hoping for a 3 year old spot at Robert Goddard Montessori. If we get in, the search will be on for after care, as it's a half day program with no transportation or after care!

Please post your lottery hopes/fears/results

Does anyone know if we will receive a letter first or if the website will be updated first? I guess we are all anxiously awaiting the results.

With the charter lottery, we received an email a week after the the drawing and a letter about 5-7 days later. I'm anticipating knowing something via email early next week...

We received placement in the Charter lottery and are pretty happy, but I'm still anxious to hear about entry into the Spanish Immersion program.

This web site that had last year's lottery results as recently as this morning is now closed for maintenance. Here's hoping they update soon!

I seem to remember last year you could look up your number and which place you are in the queue for each school, but I'm not sure if they released that info before they mailed the letters.

Thanks for posting the link. It looks like last year the web site was updated on April 4, which was about a week before some people got their letters in the mail.

Thank you! The web site says the following about how to interpret you wait list number. I'm still not sure if my wait list number is good or bad (in the 80's for Goddard Montessori 3 year old program)

"Placement offers are not shown in the results. Seat availability will not be provided.

The search currently reflects the lottery results before any placements and will be updated after April 18th.

After April 18th, the results will be "live" and continuously updated to reflect acceptance or refusal of placement offers."

For 2016-2017 there were 64 spots for 3 year olds at RGMS and the waitlist didn't move very much- maybe 5 or 10 spots. So if the number of seats are the same his year, 1-64 will receive a placement offer and waitlist spot #1 will begin at 65.

Thanks for the info! That's exactly what I wanted to know!

Well... we're in the 50s, so guess we're moving to a county with decent schools.

Does anybody know how many spots there are in RGMS for 4 year olds? Are most of them taken up by kids who started in the 3yo program?

???
If your number is in the 50s on the "raw" numbers spreadsheet that means you got a spot.

Last year they said they didn't offer any spots. This year there may be a handful because I think knsome people pulled their kids out after the drama at the beginning of the school year.
