Which schools? What are your numbers?

I'd be interested in hearing about Dora Kennedy's. I wouldn't expect our waitlist number to make it (mid-40s), but someone on this thread said their friend got in with a number in the 50s last year?

Spanish immersion at Phyllis E. Williams went through their entire wait list last year. They don't anticipate having to do that this year as the program has gained more popularity, but you still have a solid chance of getting in with a higher number...you just may not know until later in the summer.

Also, the next round of placement letters are supposed to go out sometime in May. The current students placed have until early May to register, so it's not until after that do they release new placements from the wait list. At least this is how it was explained to me.

I just called the PG office and they believe the website for the Specialty Lottery will be be updated today.

Fingers crossed!

I came on to ask this question...not updated yet, but hoping soon!

Website was updated.

It was, but did anyone see a change? The new number listed matches the number on our letter vs. the raw lottery # we initially saw.

I just checked and our wait list number increased by 2 from the one on the letter - wtf? So no one declined and multiple students moved ahead of us.

Applied for Spanish Immersion:

Original waitlist number on website #240
Waitlist number on letter #59
Updated waitlist number on website #60.

I don't even know what to feel at this point.

Now the waitlist number on website is #59- matching the number that was on the letter.

Mine's still two above letter number. I called the office and they said it means two students moved inside my boundary and they don't "punish them" but sending them to the back of the waitlist. Seems like might punish the couple of hundred suddenly behind them in the waitlist though...
I asked if they could give us an idea about typical movement on the waitlist, if that's something they track from year to year, and she wouldn't say if they even had the data, just that I need to put requests in writing.

Called and asked if the second round of placement letters will go out today, and was told no- it will be in a few weeks, but couldn't give me a date.

This is really frustrating.

What specialty program?

I called a specialty school instead of the Pupil Accounting office this time.
The deadline to register for schools if you were offered placement was May 2, but apparently they are still processing registrations. So the numbers are not really updated yet.

What specialty program?

Dora Kennedy French Immersion (but I spoke with the county enrollment office listed in the letter not the school).
