| We're 64 on the waitlist for Thomas G. Pullen (same number as our letter mailed in April). Does anyone know the chances we may have for getting in to the elementary program? I'm really holding out hope, but I'm unsure if it's futile. |
| The site has updated again. |
| I wonder if they are going to post the wait list spreadsheet again this year....it was helpful to see how many kids were still waitlisted for a given program. |
| We're up to 61 from 64 at Pullen. I don't know if holding out hope is futile, but given my other options, I'm still holding on. |

Just checked the updated site and it says there's no waitlist number assigned to our application number. Does that mean we'll receive a placement letter?
I called the school and they don't have updated info yet and the county number is giving VM. |
That would be helpful. Are there previous years' available? I'd really like to know how far up the waitlist Dora Kennedy is likely to go, especially since we'll be traveling for 3 weeks later in the summer and I don't know if we'd need to make plans of how to register while away if an offer came late summer. |
They did it before but it was just a spreadsheet with the numbers in order. You could search each number and see what waitlist number they had moved to. It was complicate but gave some interesting data. |
| A friend said she was waitlisted at 120 for Dora Kennedy and for a spot at the end of September last year. Though the person leading the open house told us they only let in about 10 from the waitlist last year. |
Something's wrong here. There is no neighborhood boundary for Dora Kennedy. It's possible someone Got bumped up based on Sibling Preference (they have an older sibling who tested in, so the younger K child got moved to the top of the waitlist). It isn't possible for someone to be moved up on Dora Kennedy's French immersion number because there is no neighborhood. I'd call and confirm. |
There is a boundary of sort because there are 2 French Immersion schools in the county...so if you went to Maya Angelou and moved into the feeding area of Dora Kennedy it is plausible that they would change you and give you preference. We had a friend who had a child in a specialty program and that child was transferred into the other school when they moved. |
I think they must have moved from the other feeding area with a higher waitlist number - the waitlist is for K, so they can't already be in French immersion. |
| I checked this morning and I am now +1 since yesterday on the waitlist for Dora Kennedy. This is not how a waitlist is supposed to work. |
|
Still waiting... I wish they'd get this last round (before school begins) going so parents can get their kids registered in these next few weeks.
|
Has the last round gone out? If so, would you expect any further movement before the Sept 30th end date? |
|
We are shocked...
We are supposed to register at a charter for our child (kindergarten) tomorrow. We've been out of town and are reading mail today and found out... We got into Dora Kennedy...we were in the Mid-30's on the waiting list.... How and why did the wait list move so fast? No siblings (or preference), we are grateful. A huge decision to make by Friday, praying for you all!! |
