It is funny how Farrah treats Derek's family with respect but when it comes to mom and Michael, she treats them like garbage. Thoughts on the adoption issues that Cate and Tyler are dealing with? |
I can't say I blame Brandon and Teresa. These two have nothing to offer their daughter: neither are working or going to school, they openly smoke pot, she has unstable mental issues, he has boundary issues. I would be taking a break from visits also. I don't see the purpose of visits. Here are your deadbeat birth parents, Carly! No, there is just no reason. |
The disparity struck me as well. Relationships with non-parents have a chance to be more normal because they are uncomplicated and without a history. Clearly there is some dysfunction within Farrah's family. I am not excusing the way she treats them AT ALL, but it seems like a switch flips in her brain when she's around them. It could be a self-protection mechanism that she is unable to control. |
I agree. I would also stop the visits. They seemed to go along with it at first, even though it involved being on TV, because of the overall message... and weren't Tyler and Caitlyn public speakers about teen pregnancy and adoption? They seemed to be doing good things. Now, they just sit around smoking pot and are on a TV show that no longer has the same purpose. I don't blame them one bit for not wanting to be involved, especially considering the TV aspect. |
I feel really bad for the adoptive parents, I think this is more than they signed up for. I'd be livid with Cate and Tyler and wouldn't want my daughter on TV or spoken about on TV either. |
I agree. I bet they are thanking their lucky stars they have the option to deny/refuse access at this point. Cage and Tyler have more than abused the situation. I'd be fed up too. The child isn't a pawn or a means to make money from MTV. |
I suspect that Brandon and Teresa have made some separate agreement about visits, or some other arrangement that keeps the adoption from actually "closing," but have also stood firm that they will not be involved with MTV in any way. We're only seeing the MTV side, so who knows what really went down. From what we've seen, they have made it clear that they do not want Carly on the show, and have asked Cate and Tyler many, many times to stop talking about her during filming, stop referencing their conversations, and not to post pictures of her on their public social media. Tyler especially has not followed these requests.
I think there could be a relationship there, even with C&T's questionable behavior, IF they would only follow the requests about putting Carly in the public eye. B&T would obviously control the relationship and access to Carly, but wouldn't cut off contact. But Tyler refuses to be "silenced." I've always thought that Teresa felt a special bond with Catelynn and wants to be a mentor or something for her. at the very least, a role model of what a successful wife, mother, and woman could be, since Cate is completely missing that in her life. |
The adoption is final. I believe though, it's an open adoption. Open is defined differently with different agencies. It may mean sending report cards and visits once a quarter, or it may mean the parents sending a letter and two pictures once a year. They may know Carly's home address, or may not. We don't know. |
Yes. Open adoptions often become closed adoption, eventually. By "closing" I didn't mean become finalized, I meant moving from open adoption to closed adoption. One ep showed the text from the agreement that everyone signed back when they were 16, though it's not legally binding. C&T requested pictures once a year, and a few other things, I forget. They all also agreed that C&T can request visits with Carly, which can be granted at B&T's discretion. If B&T decide to close the adoption, all of that is over. I would guarantee that they do not know Carly's home address, given the complete lack of boundaries C&T and their families have shown. Gifts and communication are sent through Bethany. B&T did not want Carly to interact with Butch at the wedding, and he violated that. Tyler's mom got their phone number from his phone and called them to bed them to come to his high school graduation. It was quite a while before they even learned Carly's last name, and the yearly visits have always been at a mutual location--New York one year, West Virginia another time, never in B&T's hometown, and certainly not their house. Unfortunately, we actually do know a lot about this specific adoption, because despite being asked to keep details private, Tyler has been unable to keep his trap--and typing fingers--from spewing. |
Wow. Farrah was insane this week. I'm actually starting to feel bad for her. She obviously can't control herself and has so much anger. She must be a very lonely person if that's really how she interacts with people. My heart hurts for Sophia. |
Well did you ever notice Farrah never has consistent friends? It's always a neighbor or somebody production roped into playing the role of friend. She has no friends from high school, isn't friends with her sister, no friends from college, etc. |
At the same time, this is teen mom. The only reason C&T are on the show is the adoption. Viewers want to see a happy ever after or drama/tears. The show probably placed additional pressure on them to go thru with the adoption, though we will never know. They were supposed to be the reasonable teenagers who did the right thing, loving each other and putting their babys needs unselfishly in front of their own, riding to the sunset to great futures Instead they are still not over it, got depressed and had to even go to a birth mother retreat, have delayed grief even 10 years later, cannot put it to rest and just can't cope. Even the adoptive parents don't sound like a perfect match anymore. My original impression of the show was that it was intended to promote adoption as an option. All other teen moms were looser type material. I do not know how they can be on the show if the adoption is not talked about when the adoption is the reason they cannot get on with their lives. And part of the reason they cannot do that is the show that is preventing them from putting it behind them |
Farrah needs to grow up, she is going to mess with the wrong person and end up in a heap of trouble.
Catelynn wants a horse? Seriously, you can't take care of the pets you have! Matt wants to write a book, jeez, a book of lies! |
The Matt Baier book is happening, and he is naked on the cover. I weep for our nation. http://www.realmrhousewife.com/2016/11/14/matt-baier-book-co-written-by-me-coming-soon-exclusive/ |
Farrah treats her mother like absolute s*%#! How Debra can stand to put up with her is beyond me.
I can only imagine how Sophia is going to turn out after hearing her mother ranting and yelling at people for her entire life! That poor child. Farrah needs to get some help for her anger, pronto! |
