Relationships with non-parents have a chance to be more normal because they are uncomplicated and without a history. Clearly there is some dysfunction within Farrah's family. I am not excusing the way she treats them AT ALL, but it seems like a switch flips in her brain when she's around them. It could be a self-protection mechanism that she is unable to control.[/quote]
