I don't know why you think we should uplift someone who ridicules their friends and family on TV.

Never heard her ridicule her family. She called them out for bad behavior, like telling her to get on with it while she was suicidal and pregnant.

I really don’t care that she said curtsying is like going to Medieval Times. Do you?

It was a pretty rude thing to say about meeting your future 90 something year old grandmother-in-law. And Harry looked very uncomfortable bc it WAS uncomfortable. And the way sue addressed Mindy isn't how I would speak to my friend, in public or private. But that's fine if you act like that, just expect it to raise eyebrows.

It was not uncomfortable at all. She said the Queen was lovely but that curtsying was weird to her. If that makes you uncomfortable you need to toughen up and get a thicker skin.

I would absolutely be fine joking around with a friend. I’m sorry that you don’t seem to get along with other women so you don’t get female friendships as like an overarching concept. Maybe you should take a cue from Hillaria and go to a yoga class to make some friends there?

Did you even watch the show? Meghan said she met Mindy when she came on her podcast and that they were "email pen pals." She barely knows her. Mindy took the comment in stride but it was a very weird scene. It actually looked edited, there may have been more dialogue. I can't imagine why the whole thing wasn't just cut.

Because MM wanted the Sussex issue out there to make a point. She went on Drew Barrymore show now as Megan Sussex. She intentionally raised the issue with Mindy (making her uncomfortable) and then kept it in.

I think if Megan has an agenda, that’s fine, I don’t think a cooking and entertaining show is the forum to get it across. Not a good fit.

But apparently it’s been renewed for season two so maybe she’s onto something.

Hopefully the format will be different and show more of the town, shops, California coast. To me those were the enjoyable parts. That area is breathtaking.

The Megan hating freaks will complain about the second season and then do what they did with the first season: Watch it and talk about it obsessively online, thereby resulting in Season 3.

That is shocking but good for her.

Anyone knew the details of her Netflix deal? I am assuming she got a guaranteed fee of some sort, so they need to make money back even if viewership is small and declines.

It’s in the top ten, viewership is not small at all. As the Netflix CEO has said, people are drawn to her. It seems her haters are watching more closely than anyone else. For some, it’s a fun show to have on while I’m doing other things. For others, they want to throw the remote at the tv because she used the wrong knife on some herbs. But either way, it’s engagement and both view times count the same.

I still haven’t seen it myself, I’ll probably watch some this weekend.

How would you know? Forcus on your own lives and Don't Watch Her. Why do you feel she is fair game, because she asked for it? What if she were your daughter, close friend? Would you approve of this public lashing and jump right in?
I found the show very watchable, beautiful vistas and gardens, taking time to slow down and appreciate your friends & love ones while savoring simple food. So what if she put a bag of pretzels in another bag, it was done with a good heart. It was clear to me, that her guests felt good and her husband loves her and is proud of her. With so much horror happening right now in our backyard, this was lovely to see.
Frankly, you all suck.

This is the entertainment section of a DC forum. Meghan doesn't care what is written here. She doesn't care that people thought her show was stupid and she doesn't need you defending her as if she were your close friend (Lol). You have a parasocial relationship with a woman you never met. Stop taking this so seriously.

Because she is shoving herself down the public's throat. I have no opinion at all of Kate. I like many ambitious women. MM I cannot stand. She makes me uncomfortable with her giant phony self. And you, my little sensitive Sally, should never ever venture on X or instagram or frankly any open forum because it would blow your sheltered little mind. People are allowed to have any opinion they want and gasp! air it. Even if you think its boo, mean.

The bulk of the “season 2” has likely already been filmed at the same time as this season

At one point in a later episode, she mentions her mom making gumbo and soul food, but that’s about it.

My sense is that she doesn’t particularly identify as African-American. Never really has.

To each their own.

+1. And this is one reason why her sudden claim of racism a few years ago rings hollow.

Um ... but because you don't closely identify with a race doesn't mean people can't be racist about the fact that you are of that race.

I want to watch!

I need a recipe for garden-grown sedatives I can give my DH because otherwise I have to wait for him to leave town.

Oh, so it wasn't really renewed, more like released in two parts. I loved when she drove through the town. Maybe they do have some more store content like the flower warehouse. I actually did not know people could go to those (I don't mean a nursery, a giant florist shop)

PP. Not sure I would go that far. There’s documented proof of racism against her. I believe her about other comments that were made.

I just think it was part of the reason she so disliked the UK. There was blatant racism AND it threw her for a loop because she had never experienced life as an AA woman. It was jarring.

Whatever. Congrats on the second season, MM.

Regarding using the wrong knife, I think she knows to use a chef's knife for mincing and chopping. I believe she cooks a lot at home. I think she is using that paring knife and slicing slowly bc she is wearing a lot of bracelets on the show. I think it is purposeful.
