6 of the freshman play with the JV/Varsity teams, the rest are from the frosh team but dress for Varisty

Does the entire freshman team "dress for Varsity"?

No, the rest of the freshman don’t.

So out of an entire freshman team, 13 get the special advantage of being listed on the "Varsity' roster and dress for Varsity games and of those 13, 6 get to play for JV/Varsity.

I bet all 13 of those kids are transfers or play for Overton's private football program.

13 get the privilege because they show they are worthy of practicing with the JV and Varsity team, they are just much better than everyone else on Freshman, if you played football in High school you would understand. 3 of the 6 are transfers. The 10 others are “real” Hayfield kids.

How many play for his private football program?
How do you know if a freshman is a transfer or not? They wouldn't be on a roster from anywhere else last year.

There are also 7 new junior and senior players on Varsity who did not attend Hayfield last year.

That's 22 definite transfers who are new this year to Hayfield Varsity.

There are an additional 13 freshman listed on the Varsity team with no way of knowing where they came from. I have never seen an FCPS HS roster with 13 freshman on it. Even 1 freshman on Varsity is highly unusual. Speculation: At least some if not most or all of these kids probably play on the coach's private AAU team.

Sophomores are a mystery without a published Hayfield freshman roster from last year.

Finally, there are still a handful of players who were pulled off the roster at the last minute by VHSL who are still not eligible. No one knows how many or why they are barred from playing.

So, if Hayfield parents have been saying 33, its easy to see how they got up to that number. Its clearly more than 15. (And 15 transfers is an insane number!)

Re-upping the math for the person confused about the number of hand-picked recruits on Varsity.

Reposting this math from someone who did the research to add the information that at LEAST three Freshman players put up on Varsity are confirmed to be Overton transfers as well getting special treatment.

So that's at least 12 freedom players from last year + 4 private school transfers + 3 definite Freshman transfers = 19 100% confirmed for certain transfers.

There are also 7 (!!) new junior and senior players who DID NOT PLAY for Hayfield last year so we all know most if not all of those kids are transfers as well. So that's 26 PLUS an indeterminate number of ineligible kids still sitting out plus the mystery sophomore class.

hold your breath until it does. It’ll be out shortly.

Look, the man is trying to run a business! If he wants to promise freshman paying to play on his private Woodbridge AAU team that they will be rostered on Varsity as freshman in order to get their business, that's none of your concern!

Even viewing this in the most favorable way to Overton, that's a minimum of 19 confirmed transfers.

What is a post-season ban? I don't know football or sports well. What does it mean?

If true, it would mean not being able to participate in playoffs after the 10-game regular season ends.

Yea. And Hayfield was the presumed state champs for class 6 football.

Nah. Madison is ranked higher than them. Stafford, Battlefield, and Patriot are all going to be tough. And we haven’t even started talking about the central and southern part of the state.

That’s right. Madison is higher ranked than Hayfield. It will be interesting to see who actually makes it to the state championship game, with Hayfield out if these reports are true. Chad Ricardo needs to report an update.

His only source is the coach. He didn't contact VHSL or Hayfield or FCPS.

VHSL still has Hayfield ranked. They wouldn’t rank a team that has been disciplined they way people are saying they were.

The rumor mill says they appealed the ban and are waiting for vhsl to rule on the apposal

Nobody. There is no ban.
