Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS)
Why obviously? This is news worthy. VHSL should make these things public. |
It’d be public if it happened. When you see losses/ forfeits for games, that’s when you know Hayfield has been disciplined. |
| You think someone made up the whole thing and VHSL actually has not contacted Hayfield? |
| Can you be banned in the post-season but not have games forfeited in the regular season? Is that a thing that happens? |
Sure. Who knows. Game forfeiture is the usual procedure here. A post season ban would be a first. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Maybe sports desk news anchor Chad Ricardo will have an updated report later today. |
He's not a good reporter His "source" is the coach and he didn't even bother calling VHSL to confirm whether they actually sent a letter or not. |
VHSL would say yes/no if asked whether they contacted Hayfield. Basic reporting 101. Hayfield is appealing to a "Sportsmanship Committee" if that gives any clues as to the reason for their punishment. They beat Justice 69-0 last night. No idea how many Justice kids were injured. |
You can't say what the usual procedure is without knowing what VHSL found Overton guilty of doing. The rumor is that its related to the interstate/inter-county recruiting BUT there have been so many other scandals related to this team (the coach trying to do drugs with children, the missing thousands of dollars raised on a sketchy platform, the players who were academically ineligible, the players who were found ineligible at the last minute, the kid with the pending criminal gun charge, who knows?. hard to say what the offense the VHSL is focusing on is... |
No, the rest of the freshman don’t. |
So out of an entire freshman team, 13 get the special advantage of being listed on the "Varsity' roster and dress for Varsity games and of those 13, 6 get to play for JV/Varsity. I bet all 13 of those kids are transfers or play for Overton's private football program. |
| When will the VHSL letter be made public? |
| What a disaster. I feel badly for the real/regular hayfield football players who got dragged into this mess. |
| The news anchor Chad Ricardo posted yesterday that there was nothing to the rumor. So is he right? Has there been something else other than what he said is debunked? |
13 get the privilege because they show they are worthy of practicing with the JV and Varsity team, they are just much better than everyone else on Freshman, if you played football in High school you would understand. 3 of the 6 are transfers. The 10 others are “real” Hayfield kids. |
His only source is the coach. He didn't contact VHSL or Hayfield or FCPS. |
