At the time of the crime, the white Elantra seen in the vicinity had no license plate on the front. In Washington State and Idaho cars have to have license plates on both the front and rear. In Pennsylvania, where Kohberger's car was registered at the time of the crime, the only plates are on the rear. Yes, it's strictly circumstantial, but it narrowed down the number of cars that matched the description.

Oh, that is interesting. I had not thought about how some states have to have plates on front and back of vehicles and some don't, and how that would be a clue.

What I'm really waiting to find out is how & why those girls were targeted.

Because he was a sicko - but I am waiting to hear what his lame "excuse" is, PP. So gross.

Oh okay, so his phone was at the scene a dozen times in the months leading up to the murders and then at the exact time the murders were being committed, but he was probably just partying there.

His phone was off at the time of the murders. There was no ping at that time.

Yes his phone was turned off for exactly the duration of the murders but was on during the first part of the drive there and the last part of the drive back. His route was reconstructed. And it pinged by the house twelves times in the months leading up to the murders, and the morning after. Together with his dna evidence, car make/model witnessed in the neighborhood that night, and exact physical match to an eyewitness description, just a wild coincidence I'm sure!

'd hardly call the physical match "exact". And I doubt he's the only person in the world who owns a white Hyundai Elantra.

Well add to that that it was a white hyundai elantra with no front plate which is required in washington and Idaho but is not required by the state of PA and PA is the same state where the suspect and registered driver is from; AND a white hyundai elantra missing the front plate that is caught on multiple cameras driving to and from the crime scene multiple times over the span of months and the driver's phone is pinging on cell towers going to and from the crime scene before and after the crime. That's a clear Match.

What if he has a legitimate reason for driving by their house so many times before? He could have a legitimate reason for driving out on the night of the murders, too.

Ok Mom you can stop now. He done it.

It looks like it, but he still gets a fair trial.

And the rest of the evidence?

What if it was someone else who was behind the wheel of the car with his phone and they planted the knife sheaf with his DNA? I agree that it is beyond unlikely but it would be possible to frame the guy if someone was really close to him and skilled.
It makes me uneasy simply because so many people (over time) have been framed and then convicted for things they didn't do.
I believe the evidence is overwhemingly in favor of him being at fault (like 99.99%) but I'm also glad I've never had to serve on a death penalty level case.

This isn't going to be a death penalty case. He is going to plead.

My gut feeling is that it was jealousy-- he noticed these happy, fun, good looking people and was angry because he didn't have that social ease and couldn't get girls like that. Maybe he stalked for a while just out of curiosity, and then only got more incensed. Some males think they are owed pretty young blondes as birthright,- they are failed white guys called "incels." This one has mental issues, potentially psychopathic, and he is smart enough to know this about himself.

I am curious if the other surviving roommate heard anything that may not have been revealed yet? Perhaps she heard noises too but authorities left it out since the named roommate in affidavit saw the perpetrator and that info was needed to prove probable cause? It's just hard to believe that with now knowing that some could have been awake when attacked that there was no screaming, shouting, etc.

Nailed it. He is not the only one!

In the college forum, several posters slammed the police; swore the roommates did it; called it a murder suicide.

I just remember the state has to prove guilt. The accused does not have to prove himself a innocence.

All of that speculation was made in an information vacuum prior to release of the affidavit.

The evidence cited in the affidavit that led to the suspect’s arrest is very strong. For one, there is no reasonable explanation for a knife sheath with his DNA on it to be next to one of the victims other than him accidentally leaving it there at the time the crimes were committed. And keep in mind, the affidavit very likely does not contain ALL the evidence that exists in this case. There will be more to come if this goes to trial.

I suspect there is additional DNA evidence in this case. The perpetrator was in direct contact with the four victims, and it’s hard to not leave DNA behind in that scenario due to transfer. There may also have been things like shed hairs found by the victims. And if any of the victims struggled with him, his skin may have been under their fingernails or similar. And of course, the victim’s DNA almost certainly ended up on his clothes, and was transferred into his vehicle via his clothing and the knife. How much of that he was able to clean up before law enforcement was in possession of his car remains to be seen.

We’ll see, but I will be interested to learn about any other biological evidence that exists in this case.

It's not supposed to be funny. It is possible he could regularly drive that route, e.g. he's an Uber Eats/Doordash driver. (And one of the victims did make a Doordash order that night). You just don't know yet, and are jumping to conclusions to convict him before he gets a chance to defend himself.
