| I see this all the time downtown. Short skirts, short coat and bare legs in the middle of the winter. Why? It looks so stupid and I know it doesn't feel good so why do you do it, ladies? |
| You have to pay the bills somehow. |
Funny. But these are obviously professional women going to work in the morning. |
| They don't wear pantyhose? Is it just young women doing this or is it everyone? |
Exactly, it's mostly young women that I see and it's not all women, but a big number. Completely bare legs with short skirts. It just makes me want to bundle up even more. |
| I do this on occasion, but I really don't go outside once I'm at work. What should I be doing instead? |
Tights, pants, anything to cover that exposed skin in this brutal weather. |
| Like Hs boys wearing shorts. |

It drives me crazy! It's the " younger generation." Boy am I old at 50. It took me until I was at least 30 to not wear a slip and pantyhose in the summer in DC! I can hear my mother and grandmother in my head. They would never have gone out of the house in any weather without the two.
It is nice things are more relaxed and casual but looking professional ( if you work) or well- groomed if you don't never goes out of style. There are great opaque tights. Throw them on with a pair of boots and they would be great. I just don't get it. Hosiery is a bit of a pain but if you are going to wear dresses or skirts in the winter then it's a must. Although in the grand scheme of life not a big deal. |
Kid at the high school bus stop yesterday wearing shorts and a hoodie. No coat. Several kids don't wear jackets at all. I don't get it. SMH |
Tights? It just looks so unprofessional and so out of season. We are a 4 season town. It's like wearing flip-flops instead of snow boots in the snow. I would feel so self- conscious. Black tights and flats or boots go with just about anything. |
| I despise tights and I'll go bare-legged as long as I possibly can, but I draw the line around 40 degrees. Even if I'm only outside for a very short period of time, I'm aware that bare legs look ridiculous in temperatures like these! |
I saw a HS boy in a t-shirt and no jacket waiting for the bus...crazy. |
|
DH didn't own pants until after college. He's from northern Pennsylvania where they have snow Thanksgiving to Easter. (He did have ski gear for the slopes though, but only wore it while skiing)
I still can't get him to wear a real coat. A northface jacket is all he'll put on or else he gets too hot. |
I hate tights too as they always pull at the crotch - but love leggings - especially fleece lined ones for this weather. So cozy and comfy and if you are wearing boots - no one sees your sock line unless that is part of your fashion statement! |
