Kamala Harris’ office rife with dissent

She's doing fine, certainly no worse than any other modern VP.

Anyone suggesting otherwise has unrealistic standards or is simply a racist.

I’d take that.

Umm, since when is that the Vice President's job? Now you're making things up. That wasn't Cheney - the warmonger's job. That wasn't Pence - do nothing and keep the evangelical's in line job. I can't remember what Al Gore's job was. Biden's job was to sell Obama overseas and help in the Senate.

Republicans are just pissed she brings in the cash and the crowds. Weird Democrats are pissed because she's not some non-entity that they can send off to Iowa to calm the farmers like Tim Kaine was supposed to be.

I said it SHOULD have been her number one job, in this particular administration at this particular point in time. I believe that’s why she was picked, for her perceived popularity. This administration has failed to promote its own successes. They’ve managed to do a lot of really popular things but aren’t getting the credit. That’s a problem, and one a popular VP could have helped prevent. I actually like her! I just see feel that she is getting a lukewarm reception and it’s concerning. Now it could be unfair for a number of reasons. But it is what it is. She should be more popular than she is.

Yeah well, the electorate is super sexist and racist. You can’t just wish that away.

Ahh right, any criticism of Harris must be motivated by racial animus. Are people really this unintelligent?

Why do you think that? She's the VICE President. A VP is never meant to outshine the Commander-in-Chief. Biden spends most of his time in Delaware or not taking live briefings. His administration is accomplishing great things. The VP has his full support behind the scenes and vice versa. But putting her on stage in a stadium with floodlights would do nothing but highlight how 'quiet' Biden is.

Her job is to be his support, be ready if he needs her to make decisions for the country, and if necessary - take criticism for him. That's it.

She's not popular and has absolutely terrible polling because most people know her for what she is: an empty suit, not particularly bright, terrible in articulating anything, awful on the camera. You can rant and scream about racism (whatever ) but it still doesn't obscure that she is potentially the most unpopular VP in modern history ... and all for good reasons. Harris grifted / slept her way to the top using identity politics but you can't hide as a VP the way you can hide as one out of 100 senators and the lack substance and all around mediocrity is catching up with her.

She's just the Democratic version of Sarah Palin. This time Biden actually won, unlike McCain.

She has historically bad polls by any VP standard. That’s a problem.

The funny thing is that I haven’t even been critical of her. Objectively she is just not popular. Her polling isn’t good. No need to pass judgment, just own that and move to fix it or run someone else.

Yup. If you believe in the equality of racial minorities and of women, you have to be prepared for the possibility that they will equally awful.

The funny thing is...when have you ever seen a VP polled? Ever. Even Cheney who people thought was a running a shadow-puppet Presidency was not polled. You just want to try to get her out of office any way you can by running weird polls 3 years before an election is even here. Give me a break.

You're right. That's why she won her election. Whoever your candidate is/was that didn't get the nomination, boo-hoo, but running a whinefest like you did in 2020 obviously got you nowhere.

What? Sure they were. And no! I don’t want her out. I want her to run as VP again. But I want Biden to win. If he can’t win with her because her polls are bad, than he needs to run with someone else. I do NOT want her at the top of the ticket because she will lose. That’s why she is being polled now. If Biden decides not to run.

Well, when she is being criticized for buying a $300 cooking pot at the expense of billions of dollars of grift and waste from the previous administration, yes.

This is a flat out lie. He has spent a total of like 7 days in Delaware. Contrast that with the hundreds of days of golf and shacking up in Mar-A-Lago or NJ from the previous president.

if you truly believe he has spent too much time in Delaware, then you clearly were not paying attention to the last 4 years.

Right? That comment reads like someone who WANTS her and Biden to tank. If she follows that advice, she’s done. She needs to bolster the president with her own charisma, not just be a sponge for criticism.

Democrats need to be honest with themselves and run a winning ticket if Biden doesn’t run again. She wasn’t it last time, and she isn’t it now. We can’t afford to lose. I’m all in for Biden round two, have no concerns about his age. He’s doing great and the orange menace is almost as old and WAY more demented. But if he runs at that age I think he needs a really popular VP. She can and should try turn it around.
