They wanted a sn kid, but not one that was too sn. Were apprised of this kid’s needs but after a few years dealing with SNs doesn’t seem so cute as it did when he was little. This kid doesn’t fit with her vocal fry voice, perfectly sculpted eyebrows, penchant for home make overs and deep cleaning of the house. the “new” mommy apparently has the “‘medical training” despite Kyla being a registered nurse. The husband acts like his wife adopted a recalcitrant puppy that they had to “re-home.” It took both of you to fail this kid. You’re both YouTubers making a mint, so you have the resources to help but I guess meltdowns don’t go with photo shoots of maternal bliss of doing it all.

YouTubers and sponsors, dump the chump James Stauffer who would give up his kid after 3 years.

He has no sponsors, he just posts car detailing videos. And they both gained thousands of followers in the last few days soooo...

They have lost subscribers, but have gained many views due to all the media coverage.

No, they haven’t lost subscribers actually. & have you seen her IG? She’s gained 30k+ followers.

They have! And most of her subscribers were probably bought.

7k followers is nothing and her video views have gone up drastically as well as her estimated revenues. Her IG followers have gone up substantially as well. Everyone clicking all her stuff is just adding to their $$$.

She made an agreement with an individual person? Like a PP said, is that legal? There should be strict laws prohibiting child swapping. If there is no home study, or at least a background check, there are no safeguards in place to protect a child. Wtf. That is outrageous. Her and her husband are beyond disgusting.

YES, legal. Horrifying but legal. So, so wrong and should be stopped, but the laws are complicated. Read this series (mentioned earlier in the thread) for more on how legal and shockingly common this is. https://www.reuters.com/investigates/adoption/#article/part1 You won’t be able to put the series down, but it will also make you sick.

The family may have had one. Who knows? This happens more than people realize. It is sick. If they do a legal adoption there will need to be a home study at some point. But, without an agency or court order no oversight. And, courts usually don’t care.

They need to look for this little boy and make sure she didn't sell him?

Even if she did, it would be very hard to prove in court except if the police did an investigation and even so its pretty easy to cover up. The real issue is where is this child and is a social worker or court appointee visiting regularly to make sure he is ok and getting what he needs.

People are curious of who she is. After a few weeks it will stop and she'll be old news. Some of her sponsors have been clear they are pulling out.

Myka and James Stauffer, the YouTube stars who recently “rehomed” their own child, have launched a new defense for their actions: Their 4-year-old son “wanted” to live with another family.

This is the lowest excuse yet! They are Not rehoming him to another family because that is what he wants. What other major life decisions do they think a four year old should be able to make?

He isn't verbal enough to ask for another family or consent from what they are saying with severe ASD. They probably did a visit or two and said do you like them and want to see them more and he said yes not understanding what they were asking.

I looked through her new followers because I was curious. Every one I clicked was a real profile besides 10ish maybe that were blank profiles with no posts however people are making fake profiles to follow and comment nasty stuff

I guess she said in a comment that he was harming her other children. That is a real possibility — Huxley May have been volatile, and they may be protecting his privacy by not sharing those details. But the idea of him wanting to live elsewhere or a medical team saying he should go to another family seems ludicrous. And the fact that they monetized him on their blog is very upsetting. Hopefully they retreat from public life.

Rehoming is not official it is this or what you do to pets, foster care is official and takes a long time to vet and find a "forever family" because that would be adoption and take even longer.

I know a local family who adopted out a medically fragile 1 year old that was their biological child (they also had a healthy 3 year old) because they didn’t want to deal with it and didn’t think it was “fair” to their oldest.

this is horrific. People should not be able to trade children like this. I don't know much about the adoption process through the proper process, but I hope this is not what she did to get rid of Huxley. Children need to be protected.

I would love to see some lawyer take on this case and sue the family for every cent they made off his image so he can get the mone3y for all his therapies and any special schools he could benefit from.

I hope a reporter investigates to find out who has this boy and then runs a backgroun check on the family.
