One of the best things about aging is that you don't GAF what people think about your capris!

Yes, they look great on women like Audrey Hepburn. What other body type?

does it matter? if you feel confident and comfortable in them, they work. period, the end.

Ah, spring is in the air. Time to revive this perennial thread.

And once again I'll add that I wish I could find pants that aren't capris.

Seriously? Where does one even find capris? I haven't seen them anywhere. Ankle-length, yes, but not capris.

Forget the groundhog, the weather, flowers starting to bloom...I know it is truly spring when this thread is revived

I gotta say, the best part of being a middle aged woman is that hopefully by now you’ve gotten over giving a shit about what other people think 😂😂

Teacher here. I just pulled out my capris this weekend. This thread makes me LOL. I wish I had the money to keep up with trends but I don't and I never will. I don't care what people think of me wearing capris. Wearing skirts and dresses isn't happening at school. I sit on a dirty floor with my students and I never wear anything nice.

Early 50s woman here who owns and wears capris in khaki, gray, black, navy, red and olive. And have been waring them nearly every day and feel great in them. I don't GAF about what anyone else thinks of me in them. Carry on.

I always wonder where the OP stands on gaucho pants (capri’s wide-legged cousin from across the Mediterranean). I love a gaucho in the spring and summer heat!

I’ll say the inverse of PP...when this thread started, I still looked good in capris. With my menopausal weight gain, I no longer want to shove my legs into two pegged tubes.

Ah, a timely revival of this thread! I was just perusing a Title Nine catalog that came in the mail today and spotted a pair of capri-length wide-leg travel pants that I am considering (basically the aforementioned gauchos). This thread makes me laugh and also makes me feel contrary so the odds of me buying them just went way up.

Here they are, in case you are interested:

I wear capri leggings--is that the same? or are you talking about capris that flare at the end?

Flared capris / shorter pants are hot this year. I'm all in.

I went to an event today and many men and women in their 40s and 50s were in attendance. Most of the men wore polo shirts tucked in under their pot bellies and shorts.

Nearly all the women wore capri pants. Capri pants do nothing for you. If you are short, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are fat, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are tall, you don't look good in capri pants. If you are thin, you don't look good in capri pants. No matter the body type or age, capri pants are not flattering.

I say this lovingly. Wear anything else- anything! Shorts (long shorts, if you want to; even short shorts look better than capris), a skirt, pants, anything but capri pants. They make everyone look stumpy and shapeless. No one looks good in them.

They are cooler than long pants and more appropriate for certain functions than shorts. It's not all about how you look.
