I have never experienced such hateful vitriol from anyone, anywhere. I am a conservative that has NEVER treated anyone this poorly, with friends that run the whole political spectrum. I believe everyone is entitled to their opinions, even if they are different than mine. You all want the world to reflect only yours. Comparing conservatives to the Taliban?! That is a BS take. You can have a conservative opinion all you want and no one will shame you. When you start denying women their reproductive rights based on your extremist religious views (that MOST of these women do not share), you are acting like the Taliban. Literally. That is quite literally what the Taliban does. They have extremist interpretations of their religion that are not widely accepted by the general public yet they force the majority to abide by their hardline views. It is unconstitutional and it is an oppressive society. So, PP, if you wanted to force your children and church community to live by your rules, no one would mind. When the state of Texas passes hardline, religious extremism as law, YES, the majority will be disgusted. This is not godly nor to help any living being, the sole purpose is to repress and wield power. The same old power play by white men in history over and over again. And honest, you're just as bad for supporting it.

There is no middle ground here. Sorry. You are one that won't tolerate another's opinion.

No one would ever force you to do anything regarding your own uterus. Now stay out of mine...period.

And FYI...the flip side if this is reproductive technologies to help couple desperate to conceive. Not all the embryos make it and that will be next on the chopping block. Or the desperate couples accessing that service and the very successful companies providing it will be criminalized.

That reeks of hatred toward women and denial of their personhood.

I live in the DC area, but work for a company based in Texas. There are tons of big corporations with headquarters located in Texas that attract workers from all over the world. Tons of high-paying jobs in Dallas, Austin, and Houston, for example.

So even though you might not be willing to let your child consider going to college there, there are lots of great jobs there and beautiful neighborhoods and schools. (My colleagues live in these types of neighborhoods.)

How many of the bright, cheery young prospective employees, if given the choice, will choose to live in Texas, or somewhere else?

Leadership, and particularly political leadership, matters.
