I would argue that the rules do not apply to B meets because those are not official MCSL meets. However, since the board apparently thinks they can make rules for PRACTICE, I suspect they would argue that the meet rules apply for B meets as well. They have said as much in the past, but that was when the meet rules were approved relaxations to county rules.

I would still lobby your team’s leadership to run the B meets however you want and are comfortable with, consistent with MoCo rules, provided the other team agrees to do so. I really hope the MCSL board has better things to do on a Wednesday evening than traveling around the county policing swim meets.

One clarification on this - the board stated explicitly that B meets must follow the swim meet rules. They have also stated that failure to comply will result in the team being kicked out of MCSL for the remainder of the year.

Most summer swim kids are under age 12. Most year round kids are the older kids and they continue to swim with their year round team. Its sad how parents are so entitled they cannot put the younger kids safety first. And, 12 and up are just allowed to be vaccinated so they will not be fully vaccinated by the time swim season starts.

Please explain how having vaccinated adult spectators puts unvaccinated children at risk OUTDOORS.

Please explain how having food sales outdoors puts unvaccinated children at risk.

FWIW I have two children under 12 who will be swimming. Neither of them would do a swim meet if my wife or I weren’t there helping them - remember, once the swimmers enter the swim area they cannot leave. I’m sure there are tons of parents with 8 and under swimmers in the same boat.

I have no problem with individual pools having stricter rules than the county if that’s what their Board/HOA dictates. But having a one size fits all approach is nuts.
