I’m still so angry that I’m somehow happy that my student now comes to school once a week for 2 periods of video instruction. My expectations were so high for the school years ago when we started there. Now they are so low that’s this measly offering is an improvement.

Report this to AP Rottman. I send him a one liner email every time it happens. There's no excuse for a teacher to just "not show up". They can call-in absent or send an email in advance like every other working professional. He is grateful to know each and every time.

This is happening at the other grade levels as well. I have no confidence that there is any accountability on this issue, regardless of how nice the AP’s email response.

I feel exactly the same way (for everything, but especially the bolded). We need new LSAT and ADCA reps because they defend Neal's refusal to reopen with IPL and everything she does to chip away at what made Deal a great school.

Absolutely. The LSAT/RCC chair and ADCA president are husband and wife and are completely opposed to reopening, and vocally shut down any discussion of the subject at meetings.

ADCA had the nerve to send out an email today praising Neal for how great and "children-focused" she has been over the past 13 months.

This time last year, 100% agree. It started to go south when schools started their reopening plans and Deal did not.

The LSAT chair and ADCA president are married? That is pretty unusual. With a school this size there really need to be more voices in parent leadership positions.

+1. I want my kids to have actual in person instruction in the room with their teacher teaching them, and that doesn't make me a racist. The sad thing is how specific I need to be about what IPL should mean after Neal misrepresented this disastrous plan.

So glad my kid is leaving DCPS and not going to Deal next year!!
