I’m sure he scrubbed out. JFC. |
Those measures are ineffective and have been for a while. |
So then what would you do? Why are you criticizing Hogan when you have no alternatives? |
If he was in surgery, he was wearing a gown or two on top of that one. It is not like in the ER or a regular doctor's office. It is not like he had time to take a shower. Or maybe he didn't know he was speaking today. Could be fresh scrubs but better than wearing the sweatpants and old sweatshirts he threw on at 6am in this morning to commute to work. who knows and who cares-- substance over form. |

Hogan saying that rural MD areas are hard hit this time around. |
I would have closed all indoor dining, and I would've done it much earlier. |
Did he provide data on where the cases are coming from? As in, has it mostly been from in-home gatherings? The contact tracing data on the MD COVID website isn’t very specific. |
It’s not about all indoor dining — it’s about high-capacity indoor dining. He’s capping indoor dining at a low capacity. |
There are plenty of other options. Look at how other countries are dealing with their pandemic. Some are requiring paperwork for people who go out, to explain why they need to leave the house, and fining people who don't fit into the allowed categories and are found beyond the stated geographic limit from their workplace or home. Some are in strict lockdown. Some have closed most businesses but kept schools open. Plenty of options... Hogan is just tweaking his earlier plans and not branching out. |
He said many people don't want to participate in contact tracing because (my words) they have their tin hats on. |
The only thing you mentioned that’s constitutional is closing businesses but keeping schools open. It is not constitutional in this country to require people to tell the government where they’re going, or fining people for being beyond a certain limit from their home. Moreover, that’s not even effective, given that most COVID cases are happening via in-home gatherings, which you could do while staying on your own block. |
PP here. Thanks — god our country is stupid. |
Such measures were radically effective in France and Italy. The problem is that as soon as they’re lifted, people go back to greeting each other with kisses on the cheek, as it’s the traditional greeting over there... so now France is in its second lockdown. It will be effective, but as soon as it’s lifted... |
You asked what I would do. That's what I'd do. Low capacity? Who tf needs to be eating in a restaurant right now?! We're spiking! Get takeout and go home! |
