Hogan press conference 11/17 2pm

What are the additional restrictions going to be. Also curious re: the 2pm time instead of 5. Maybe new restrictions will start as of tomorrow AM?

Who knows? My guess would be that at minimum, he will reduce the size of of allowable indoor gatherings, perhaps similar what some of the counties have done, to 10 or less.

He should issue a stay-at-home order or similar, but I feel he won't, for political reasons, unless he's got more gumption than I give him credit for.

First school closures: March 16th, 7 cases, 0 deaths.
First stay-at-home order: March 30th, 174 cases, 5 deaths.

November 16th: 1726 cases, 7 deaths.

I just wish they would say that if you

1. travel for the holidays, you must quarantine upon return
2. IF OTHERS TRAVEL TO YOU, you must quarantine upon return

AND reduce gatherings indoors to no more than 8 people.

My kids daycare sent out a letter regarding this as many daycares/schools are buffering in 5 days of closure after the thanksgiving and christmas holidays to keep staff and children safe. They mentioned #1 but did not mention #2. People are dumb and will find ways to say well you said dont do x but not y, even though x and y are closely related.

I truly hope he doesn't start with closing schools

Privates? He should, but he won’t.

I wish he would talk about ramping up testing. We need that! Lines at public testing sites have been really long. We need accessible testing during convenient hours, not just mornings or weekdays. If we can test more, more asymptomatic carriers can be identified and isolated.

A 2 PM press conference feels less ominous than a 5 PM press conference. Perhaps some additional restrictions but nothing like a lockdown.

He's probably going to encourage people to not gather in large groups for Thanksgiving.

No school should close in a county until after the bars close in that county.

Agree with both previous posters.

How helpful...

Never thought I would say this but personally I think we should have a stay at home order until mid-January, and the first thing that should reopen when numbers get under control is schools, before restaurants, bars, gyms, etc.

If private schools are open and not getting transmission within the school they should be allowed to stay open, but obviously being watched very carefully.

They are being watched carefully:

Try to find the same report for bars and restaurants.

Anyone have a link where we can watch it live?
