I mean Hugh Grant is just unattractive. He always has been. It's not at all a stretch that characters this age would have a kid that age. But are y'all going to talk about the show or not? I haven't read the book, had only seen the trailer for the show. Thirty minutes into the first episode I guessed that the baby belongs to Hugh Grant's character. I'm interested to see where it goes. |
Just enjoy the show ! |
| Anyone watch Episode 3? So many suspects. |
| I’m through Episode three. Frankly this is just one Law & Order stretched out over three episodes. And, as with Law & Order, you can guess who did it by asking “ Who is the biggest star in the ensemble?”. I’m quitting. I’m tired of Nicole’s confused look and unmoving face. She can’t play a mom in her thirties anymore. She’s 54. |
? She’s not playing a mom in her 30s. |
|
*****Spoiler alert******
I really hope the plot twist is not one of the sons. |
|
I am enjoying it. What I don’t like:
- Hugh G can’t look someone in the face when he speaks. He blinks and looks down. - why is nicole is full makeup in all scenes? Her nails wouldn’t be kept up and her makeup wouldn’t be on. She’d be haggard, exhausted, bags and circles under her eyes, etc. these things would make it more believable. |
No one wants to see ugly, haggard people. |
My thoughts exactly! And it's clearly Donald Southerland. |
Really? Frances McDormand, Charlize Theron, etc have all played older and tired looking characters and I’ve wanted to see them. |
My husband asks my about 20 times "How old is Hugh Grant?!?!!" We both were shocked when we watched at how old he seemed to get overnight. Meanwhile, he can't believe Nicole is almost mid-50s. I had the total hots for Hugh when 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' came out and I loved Andie McDowell in that. |
OMG people. It's upper East Side NYC. Parents are old as f*ck. They are perfectly type-cast for this. Women have babies at 40. |
Nope. The kid is around 13. A lot of career NYC rich women don't have babies until late 30s-40. Nicole is probably playing a few years younger than her real age so that part is realistic...and they often are married to older men. It's rich Upper East Side, not the Midwest. |
You think? Would an old man have strength enough to bash in Elena’s head with a sculpting hammer? Also, just for fun, what do you think Grace was doing in Elena’s neighborhood that evening? It’s possible she isn’t the murderer, but did she hook up with Elena? They had wicked chemistry in the elevator after the Reardon party. |

If you want a haggard Nicole Kidman, take a look at her in Destroyer, beginning to end.
In the Undoing and Big Little Lies, she was not cast as a mom in her 30s. |
