I will always secretly hate beautiful women

I think I'll watch Bridesmaids for the thousandth time tonight.

I always think of it this way, anyone could have an accident and become disfigured, even beautiful people and many times looks do fade eventually. People need to have more substance than just looking good. What happens if/when the looks fade?

This made me lol hard!!

Ha it was me that posted this. Glad that made you laugh! It’s true though, right?!?! Whyyyyy do we want to have sex and couple with these creatures? My husband never picks a piece of kids garbage or his dirty socks off the floor, but will insist with a straight face that he values “sanitization
over cleanliness” while he puts on medical gloves to
open a pack of chicken on the one night a week he cooks. For f*cks sake.

This. Being the ugly friend got me into a lot of cool places, and spaces and on several free trips.

Smother him with a pillow.

The women I know who could give models a run for their money aren’t the most stable people. They just aren’t. That’s just my experience. While it would be great to look like them maybe, I feel sorry for them at the same time. They seem to be missing something. Maybe it’s the way these women were raised? The most beautiful women I know aren’t wealthy, they are poverty level. Of course not all beautiful women have issues, but I think we need to be less superficial, especially when raising traditionally beautiful girls. We need to teach them they are more than the way they look.

Comes with the territory apparently.

What did you and your DH look like when you were your kids' age? It's rare for beautiful kids to grow up to be beautiful adults.

I was sort of pretty, and my husband was definitely not considered attactive as a kid. I think you are generally correct though, that it is rare for beautiful kids to grow up as beautiful as they were as kids.

Envying or resenting physically beautiful women won't help you, OP. Beauty becomes less of an advantage over time. Everyone ages.

Focus on what you can do. How can you improve your own performance at work, social skills, appearance...whatever you hope to improve?

It's not fair that people get advantages in life because of the genes that they inherit, although you can improve your own appearance, to an extent. The same applies to so many things in life: good health and intelligence, for example. All we can do is what is within our control.

Have you spoken to the teachers who have said those things? That is completely unacceptable behavior on their part.

Also, although it wouldn't make any difference to whether it's acceptable or not, are you sure that people are saying these things because your kids are beautiful?

My MIL looked like Shirley Temple as a child and grew up into Christy Brinkley. It’s rare beauty and I have never met anyone else in person who ever compared to her. She has exquisite rare beauty but is mentally ill.

Have you listened to actresses when they don't have scripts to read or a director? They sound so stupid. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some women make clothes look good, but they aren't good looking themselves.

I would argue that OP is far more narcissistic than any beautiful woman I’ve known. She’s so concerned with her own looks that she hates women she doesn’t even know solely because they are prettier than her. That’s about as intense an obsession with her own appearance as possible.

IMO, what they lack is perspective. The ones who become traditionally beautiful later than most know better.

What is beauty? Models are tall, so are short women beautiful?

Seriously. I can’t believe I spent my 20s hating on and competing with other women, trying to land one of these cretins. Convincing women that they need a man is the biggest scam in the history of humankind.

Sometimes I fantasize that an angry, beautiful 23 year old girl will show up on my doorstep to tell me she and my DH have been having an affair and she’s making him choose one of us. I’d laugh and probably buy her a gift basket for taking him off my hands.

Sadly, society dictate many beauty trends and standards. Yes, short women can be beautiful, just look at all of the short beautiful actresses. We don’t have to agree with society’s standards of beauty, but realistically this is what the majority hold up as the standard. There is actually a formula for what constitutes a beautiful or attractive face, including particular measurements and symmetry. Plastic surgeons follow this.
