Only 3 hours per day, idiot. |
Lots and lots of people aren’t wearing masks. Lots and lots of people don’t wear their seatbelts. Lots and lots of people are miserable. Doesn’t mean someone should take this job. |
But they absolutely do not want to hire a teen or college student. They specify in their ad: 2+ yrs experience teaching in early childhood education Formal education training or degree preferred |
Omg so you take a month off from work unpaid? Is that why you don’t have anything better to do? |
Lots of unemployed right now i'd watch your mouth op |
I wouldn’t assume this is someone’s full time job. So, yes, they would take this part time gig off. |
A nanny is a luxury. If they want basic childcare then they need to hire a teenager or put their children in daycare. |
I worked in a grocery store as a college student. This is not only NOT "an ideal situation" but it's pretty much a non starter in the grocery business. If you limit your availability too much, they won't be willing to work around your schedule. Grocery stores (and other big box stores) want to OWN all of your time. A college student limiting 1-4 every week day IN ADDITION to whatever classes they need to take, will not be hired. |
And feed themselves how? Pay rent - how? God - you want to talk about out of touch? Its this. |
So they basically want a daily one-on-one tutor for their kids, but for only $24/hr?? Not to mention, “daily learning activities and enrichment” will require a lot of lesson planning outside the 3 hours/day. As a kindergarten teacher that’s staying home this year (pregnant), I would not consider this even if I was available. |
You missed the part that there is a full-time nanny and this is a part-time teaching job |
Our preschool is still planning to operate and it is mornings only. Something like this would be a great 2nd job for one of the preschool assistants. |
So, that can be a preschool teacher or a college student who has worked part-time or a lot of different options. Early childhood education just means experience with kids. |
And, they'd get paid more. |
Exactly! People are willing to pay a lot for tennis lesions, horseback riding lessons, etc, but the person actually coming into your home, helping to raise and educate your kids isn’t worth much. Wonderful. |
