Based on what you know, would you let your son or daughter play in a lacrosse game?

actually don't care if kids play lacrosse but if you reasoning is because they don't touch each other it's a dense reason. They will hug, they will share drinks, they will share food, they will sit with each other between games and on the sidelines.

Both my D1 lacrosse sons probably already had it (both sick and their schools made them quarantine for 4 weeks) so I am not really concerned about me but I'm not a sociopath so I am actually concerned for others too.

So you don't care if they play but you have D1 playing sons? So either you're a complete narcissist who got his enjoyment for his own self or a complete liar. I go with complete liar since schools were dismissed way before a 4 week quarantine could be affected. Nice try.

seems like an easy issue to overcome. I don't see a lot of kids slurping on each other in the first place.

Boys are dense, they pick up whatever water bottle is closest. Do you have a girl? No hugging?

Wow. You are really into fighting for a really dumb side of an argument. You are aware you have probably already contracted it, the days are getting warmer and the numbers are going down - right? Do you even enjoy the atmosphere or just see it as a necessary evil and you'd prefer to live in a cave?

Wow! you sure are defensive.

So in your mind, this is the end of those behaviors? That's a sad thought.

Do you also know Hoganlax and other tournament organizers haven't cancelled any tournaments yet and there are tournaments going to take place in Colorado and Florida as soon as school ends.

Correct. All the sport's directors are planning on moving forward in some form or fashion. The messages on the sites are that they are working with state's administration and realize fields may be smaller but they are running tournaments where they can. Maybe even in MD too if Hogan can get out of his own way.

No. I hope not but the posters said since Lax is a sport where you don't touch the ball and don't touch each other it should be safe. I am pointing out that the kids will be touching each other and sharing drinks.

Only pointing that I really, really like lacrosse.

It was odd, we thought they were worried about Meningitis. Actually they said they were ... but tested negative, adenovirus, negative, flu, negative, mono, negative... can't get the whole team sick. So... moved to a hotel.

They quarantine kids for those too. It's not new.

Do you know I don't care. All I'm saying is if you think it's "safe" because they don't touch each other during the game you are not thinking.

Also, I think most things will be open June 15th. Possibly back to <50 gatherings, but mostly back to normal by July 1.

did you see the refrigerated morgue at Suburban... maybe I'm wrong.

Let them play

If they wear masks.

Girls are a lot more vulnerable than boys. My concern is primarily the airborne nature of the virus. The helmets the boys wear will at least provide some air disruption around their faces. Running hard / breathing hard will increase the chance of the spread of the virus from asymptomatic players. This will occur quite easily because there is a lot of close play in lax as we all know and observe at every practice and game.

Even though kids on the teams are usually outstanding athletes and in great health condition, so the virus is not quite as deadly dangerous to them, there are players with unknown underlying health conditions. It would be heartbreaking if practicing or playing in a game caused them to catch the virus and die.

Do you know you are wrong? Did you read the article or just the headline? Suburban was offered a mobile morgue and they accepted.

Like many other health care providers locally and nationally, we have accepted a mobile morgue unit, in the form of a refrigerated truck, in an effort to be prepared and with the hope of never needing it,

It's posts like yours spreading over wrought anxiety and fear. But I like how you are screaming about how the sky is falling and then hedging with the opening in June and July comment.

We'd be in. Has a higher chance of tearing an ACL than catching the Vid.

I know...I know....death vs an injury...I get it...relax quarantine bros...the risk every time you leave your house is calculated at some level...

Nice backtrack. Are you claiming a school made you quarantine your kids for a month in a hotel because they had flu like symptoms and couldn't pin an illness to them? No chance, nice fear mongering.

You are totally reading my post through the lenses of your own bias.

I think we will be open in June... also maybe I'm wrong since Suburban just accepted a mobile morgue.

Also, I think people who say lax is safe BECAUSE THEY DON'T TOUCH THE BALL are not thinking because the kids drink out of the same water and hug and share food.

I'm not saying they should play or not play I'm just pointing out how illogical it is to say they can play BECAUSE THEY DON'T TOUCH EACH OTHER.

I think they will play because we will have hit the peak for over 60 days 3000 people in MD will die and deaths will decline.... , and old people will still be in a stay at home order. I might not send my kid with asthma or diabetes. Hey but I might be wrong.

What are you babbling about. Teams often quarantine kids from the rest of the team when they are sick. A friend's daughter was quarantined for mono. It's part of their protocol. It's no different than last year. Navy cancelled a game due to too many sick players. Teams don't need the whole team ill.

I didn't pay for the hotel if you think I'm complaining about that.
