Yes, but I haven't tortured my kids with a strict quarantine. They still have a friend or two over. They still play basketball in our court as well.
You'd be hard pressed to find a filed open tho. |
| The problem is when they gather under the tent and share food and drinks. |
seems like an easy issue to overcome. I don't see a lot of kids slurping on each other in the first place. |
| I think kids will be able to play lacrosse this summer. Major tournaments will be reformatted. Fewer teams. Games spread out and people with counters controlling the number of people per SF allowed on the grounds at any one time. Tournaments will announce and enforce a no tent policy. That may be the new normal but they will play. |
| The truth it that, yes, averting some number of tragic deaths from coronavirus is in tension with the need for a much larger number of people to resume life—sometime after it is no longer reckless to do so but sometime before it is perfectly safe. That “sometime” is approaching and is definitely by June. There is no reason not to have outdoor games and tournaments. Yes, there may need to be some new rules about # of spectators and gatherings between games but for the most part this is one of those sections of life that needs to return to normal, or as normal as possible. |
Hogan is doing a great job, this is hard. You try and do this with the grace and compassion he has. And that he has to deal with Trump is compounding this mess. Trump is the problem not Hogan. "We have this all under control" It's not like Trump didn't know about this in January and it's not like he prepared or hasn't stopped lying. Put the blame where it belongs. KING TRUMP. |
| Pretty sure he was a little busy in January with impeachment, as were the House oversight panels who recieved the exact same intel briefings as the President. Best to stick with what you really know, as hindsight is hard whether lax or politics. |
Oh please, by any metric regarding cases, containment, treatment, deaths; Hogan has failed. He has a state with 6 million people with just a few population centers and the numbers in MD are terrible compared to others of the same size. He has no idea how to extricate this state from its terrible condition because of his high political ambitions. You can bet MD will be one of the last to have restriction stages loosened. Count on no youth sports for the calendar year at least. |
Correct |
Go find a political room dumba$$. |
In the global scheme of things, youth lacrosse is not one of those things that needs to resume as fast as possible to get back to 'normal'. |
Boys are dense, they pick up whatever water bottle is closest. Do you have a girl? No hugging? |
So glad you have the power to affect the global scheme of things. Did you get food today? Go to work? Figure out how to get your child off fortnite or is that the plan until 2021? In the global scheme of things, by what measure would it be okay to resume youth lacrosse or other outdoor organized activities in parks? |
Wow. You are really into fighting for a really dumb side of an argument. You are aware you have probably already contracted it, the days are getting warmer and the numbers are going down - right? Do you even enjoy the atmosphere or just see it as a necessary evil and you'd prefer to live in a cave? |
Wow! you sure are defensive. I actually don't care if kids play lacrosse but if you reasoning is because they don't touch each other it's a dense reason. They will hug, they will share drinks, they will share food, they will sit with each other between games and on the sidelines. Both my D1 lacrosse sons probably already had it (both sick and their schools made them quarantine for 4 weeks) so I am not really concerned about me but I'm not a sociopath so I am actually concerned for others too. |
