Julius West MS student missing-- West End Parl neighborhood of Rockville

It is on Rockville PD's Facebook page. Rockville city limits, does not include Aspen Hill, so that case was handled by MoCo police dept.

If you are not interested in helping with the search, just ignore the search, instead of judging the family and the community. I, like so many of my (and LemLem's) neighbors, am deeply concerned and feel like I need to do something … really ANYTHING to help. So we joined the search parties, posted fliers, put at the word as best we could. The owner of Carmen's is also a member of the community who re-opened late at night to give people a place to gather and get moving. Huge kudos to him and to all. I am proud to be part of this community and comforted in knowing that if this were my child, my community would also rally in support. Good grief, I'm glad you naysayers aren't my neighbors.

I'm a PP, and I'm certainly not judging. I'm trying to understand what's going on, as a parent. Because I also live in Rockville and am concerned that we've had two Rockville girls that have gone missing at around the same time (between 7 - 7:30am) on their way to MS.

It feels very disconcerting that two girls have gone missing from the same town in just a few weeks.

I sincerely do hope this girl is found safe and sound.

I, like everyone else, hope she is safe and sound. I in fact live in this neighborhood too, and have a walker to JWMS. Nobody is being disrespectful, I think, its mostly a function of bewilderment and confusion. It is in fact very shocking that there is a missing child and the police in fact dont seem to be the ones doing the searching. There was no Amber Alert. There was no email from MCPS.

Here's reality now: your child can be missing for an entire school day, and nobody will call you. 18 hours will go by before it makes the news. It won't even be on the local police department's website the next day. I'm not happy with this. You shouldn't be either.

Is this the experience at your MCPS school? Not our hs. DS was pulled from the end of a 6th period for some testing and missed 7th period. Tester explained that she would communicate with 7th period teacher regarding an excused absence.

Within 2 hours of end of THAT school day:
1) I received an email from the attendance office stating, "...notify you that your child has been marked absent from one or more periods of school today. Please call the office...."
2) My husband received an email.
3) Our home phone had a similar message.

+1.

I'm a PP who posted about it being strange. Thanks for the heads up. I did not realize this girl had White parents.

The missing Rockville girl from a few weeks ago was Latina. She went missing literally just a few blocks away from Barnsley ES. The Principal did not send out a single email for the 4 days she was missing. Yet, I got an email from Barnsley about this case last night after just a few hours.

Definitely felt strange, and now it makes more sense to me, honestly.

The other missing child went missing on a Saturday afternoon. Perhaps the school was not aware of it until Monday and the initial time after a child goes missing was already beyond anything that could be done. Why can't we look at the good in what is done instead of looking for fault. It seems that many people look to complain rather than look at the positive a lot of people have acted quickly to try to help find this child.

Is there a way for the police to ping her phone? Just because she didn't have a tracking app installed doesn't mean it can't be traced! I hope they're looking at social media, too.
Horrifying. I hope the girl is found safe and sound soon!!!

It sounded like it was a pay as you go phone. No account to log into and trace.

Not true.

I live in that neighborhood and have kids at Rock Creek Valley. The girl left home at around 7:30am, and was reported missing on a weekday. It was not a Saturday afternoon. I remember because parents were quite concerned that week.

Good news. I just spoke to LemLem Earley’s mother. She says her daughter is back home and she is safe. She didn’t tell me all the details about what happened. Police are also at the house.

I bet she didn't tell the details....

Or her parents should.

That's getting a bit ahead of things. Of course the last thing we want is a teen to not come back because they fear the consequences of *that*
