It’s so boring. They did Monica so dirty by casting Beanie

She could have changed her name and moved on with her life

Are you kidding? What good would that do?

She’s so successful now to this day and honestly is an inspiration. I admire Monica and find her to be incredibly resilient.

Agree with others that Monica was strikingly pretty at the time of the scandal.

I don't think all of that is necessarily true.

She didn't just graduate from high school and jump right into lots of roles or even big roles. She went to college, but she didn't study film or theatre there.

IMO, Dave Franco is more of a star due to industry nepotism than she is.

I've never met other people who even know Jonah Hill is her brother. Is she the greatest actress? No, but she's not terrible. I would probably say she's currently D or C List. I do expect that to rise after this show and I'm sure she'll get an emmy nom.

I don’t know who you hang with but people definitely know she’s Jonah’s little sister. Her mother Sharon usually accompanies them to premieres and award shows. Beanie has also discussed him on talk shows.

10 pm on FX. Probably on Hulu by now.

Beanie was a poor choice. Is this show supposed to be like, satire? Because I almost feel like it’s a comedy

When they announced Beanie, I thought she was a decent choice, but I guess the entire hair and makeup budget was spent on making Sarah Paulson look like Linda Tripp. And to make Clive Owen look like... whatever he's supposed to look like.

+1.
That Feldstein girl is very dowdy-looking. Bill Clinton, surely, was a womanizer, but I don't think even he'd fall for her.
Monica, on the other hand, at her heyday, was attractive, no questions asked.

Monica is still gorgeous. Her skin!

While I agree with this, Monica was and is attractive. She was not viewed that way during the scandal, there were many jokes/comments about her looks at that time.

She is great! I am very happy for her that she was able to carve out a life despite all of the awful things that were done to her. It was shameless what they did.

Here are my two hot takes (well, I'm adding aq third):

1). Monika Lewinsky was harmed in a bad power dynamic, AND she's not blameless. She stalked BC and went after him (OW are usually eviscerated on this board, no matter how much they say they are naive or under the sway of an older, powerful man).

2). Linds tripp was an awful scheming person AND she also probably was the only one who did the right thing (by reporting what was going on).

And my bonus:

3) I'm surprised there's not been more alternate reality analysis if what had happened if BC had resigned in February 1998. It would have ben more than two years into the presidency, which means Al Gore would've gotten two years, PLUS could've run for two more terms. If Clinton resigned, do we get Hilary as a Senator? eDo we get Barrack Obama (maybe Hilary divorces Bill and runs for Senate in Illinois)? Do we get Hilary as presidential candidate? Does 9/11 happen? re we in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq? Do we get Trump as president? My take is, BC should have resigned, and we would not have had Trump as president. I think there's a direct line.

Sorry, totally disagree with the direct line. 9/11 would have happened regardless who was president. The response may have been different but doubtful.

Remember this is a fiction show based on facts and only her side of the story. I believe it was a setup from the get go! How many save a dress?

wait, are you accusing Monica of setting Bill up?

She was obsessed, but I don't think she set him up.

The only way I could see the scenario of her saving the dress to "set him up" being plausible was so that she had proof for HRC.

Shame she’s had to spend twenty years of her life as an outcast while Bill (and Hill!) were able to put it behind them and reign as the ideological figures of the Democratic Party. Bill Clinton, for all his charm and brilliance, is a womanizer and possibly a rapist. I will definitely be watching.

I am TOTALLY with you.

I was working in politics back then and was in close contact with both Bill and Hillary. Bill is a complete sleaze and Hillary is a snake. It is easy to see how someone like ML would get taken in by the POTUS role and the smarm of Bill. The American public fell for his act and his smear campaign against her.

It is wonderful that people are finally waking up to the fact that Bill was the one who was wrong and ML was the victim. Even if Bill didn't use force ML he used his position to compel her. Disgusting.

Unfortunately now ML has lost 20 years of her life AND every time someone hears her name they are reminded of how she was victimized. I am so glad that things are turning around for her.

Not to put to fine a point on her suffering, but Monica has made multi-millions off being the intern who gave a single blow job to the president.

$500,000 for the first book
$1,000,000 for her first public interview (Barbara Walters)
$200,000 for the Monica Lewinsky line of handbags
$300,000 for her Jenny Craig endorsement
$250,000 for her television gig
$12,000,000 for her second memoir (O.O)
$1,000,000 for the Netflix biography deal
$750,000 for the assorted guest appearances she'd done over 10 years on places like Jimmy Kimmel Live

Not saying she's wrong. I applaud her for getting her money, but let's not pretend she hasn't done well for herself off the scandal.

Except for the $12M deal, that's not a lot of money for decades of working. Her career abruptly ended and she was enmeshed in scandal, labeled a slut. I wouldn't want her path even if it came with the money.

Absent the $12M deal, she still made $4m. That's PLENTY to lead a good life, unless you have serious spending problems. And she had $2m of that before her 30th birthday, which would've been compounding for the last 20 years. Plus, if she bought real estate back at the early 00's prices.

That's really good money for never having to work a 9-5.
