I need more emojis. I don’t have an appropriate reaction option for this. |
If someone is bipolar, you’ll see the other pole. We never see that. It’s non-stop mania. That’s something else. |
| sexual assault is unacceptable |
| And there was that time where Dunham put rocks up Grace's hooter... |
|
I never understood the appeal to Dunham. I don't find her particularly unique, she doesn't have a 'fresh take'. GIRLS was a short lived HBO series, it was cute, mixed, not the kind of show you'd watch again and again, because the plot was eh.
Tell me how she made it in this business! I just don't get it. |
I think people are afraid to criticize her artistically or behaviorally. |
Yes, they were quite young. Lena was 7 and Grace was 1. Apparently Lena had just had a conversation with her mother and having a vagina and so she was curious about Grace's |
My sibling and I are that far apart and I never thought curious meant let’s penetrate the baby’s private parts and see what happens. |
I’m not going to click through but I think I remember this - she’s defending a friend who was charged with sexual assault or harassment, right? Yeah, she plays at being a feminist, when push comes to shove, she protects the men. |
+1 Very screwed up |
| Even accepting everything she’s said and done people seem to be projecting an awful lot on this photo. |

If a woman does this to a man, would be consider this "punching up"?
I've read time and time again here that black people cannot be racist against whites. So, can a woman not behave inappropriately towards a man? He's in the privileged position and women have had countless assaults. |
She made it in the business they same way a lot of kids who have high profile, connected parents do. Not only did she have her parents’ circle to tap into, but her own; other rich NYC kids with their own connected parents. She’s clearly willing to push for what she wants, has plenty of resources, and isn’t stupid. The concept for Girls was a proven one- most modern generations have their version of a Friends type series or film that taps into pop culture and feels new, even if it really isn’t. She was able to add edgier elements thanks to HBO hosting the series. |
Histrionic personality disorder--excessive attention-seeking, inappropriate sexuality, etc. |
+1. Her parents are super-connected and loaded. As are the parents of some of her other friends who starred in Girls-Allison Williams (daughter of Brian Williams from NBC nightly news), Jemima Kirke (daughter of musician Simon Kirke and granddaughter of a billionaire tycoon), Zosia Mamet (David Mamet's daughter), etc. She spent her childhood hobnobbing with famous artists, directors, critics, etc. and going to school with her kids. All of the main female actors in Girls came from super-connected and loaded families. |
