Anyone else watching the new season of Project Runway?

+1 for Sebastian right now. But I like Lela and Bishme, too. Hester is too trendy for me and I hated the pasties look.

I think of Marni as an artist, a fashion artist, and artists look pretty crazy sometimes but they can create nice things. Now I have no idea if Marni creates works of beauty but she has that eccentric artistic look. I agree that she’s not my favorite person on the show and I would rather see Christian.

It’s one thing if she dressed like this and was an artist who created purses or jewelry or clothing. But her focus is styling and since she essentially is advertising her services each Time she’s on tv, is photographed, is out in public, etc, she should rethink what she wears. I was frankly shocked when she talked about themes and it showed a kardashian In Europe looking sleek and classic. It was so different from how she looks. If it was a theme - then at least have her mix her own self up and do wild sometimes and classic others. She doesn’t do that for herself ever. It’s always clown school 101.

I am suspicious of the designer Jamal. Can he even sew? He won 1 challenge and that was when Christian told him what he should do after he scrapped his design and was stumped. His winning look looks nothing like any of his other pieces or anything from his portfolio that they flash, which is there any proof he actually made them?

I loved the Elton John challenge. Disappointed with the elimination though.

I also really liked the Elton John challenge. I had to turn it off before I saw the elimination so either someone here can school me or I'll have to wait for the rerun this week.

What surprised me about the challenge was that there were a few looks that were incredibly low caliber from a design perspective and, worst of all, they didn't reflect anything at all about the fiery flash and theatrical spirit of Elton John. Like, what rock did some of these performers grow up under? He is a mega-star and a well-known personality. Everyone in the free world should recognize him. I could have given them better designs for him than they had and I know nothing about costume design.

Jamal's outfit was flat out odd and I kept thinking about Hannibal Lector. Tessa's was boring, even with the fringe, and had no flash with all the brown and ochre colors. I think she had a good idea but the wrong fabric and colors. Venny's outfit looked very poorly made, like it was made for someone 5 sizes larger than the model and the whole thing was ugly. I don't know what to say about Hester's turkey look. The pants were too long in the crotch so it made the model look like he had a two foot long lower torso and made him walk funny. I liked her at the beginning but now she seems to be reveling in her oddness, not really focused on good design.

All in all, it is a good season!

I didn't see anything after the runway walk! I know I can look it up but I haven't. If you know and want to share that's great! I'd love to hear your opinion, too. I love this show.

Also, is anyone else disappointed with Nina's role and comments recently? She seems to have toned it down a little, which is disappointing. She is never mean but she usually is pretty direct and this season she doesn't seem to have the same flair.
