| FCV Will be begging to get back into the ECNL when charlotte and Penn Fusion leave and the closest good match is in Georgia |
Being in a league doesn't make a club magically better. There are top clubs in both leagues and terrible ones that should be removed from both leagues. And yes, I wish there were a DA vs ECNL league tournament at the end of every year. Let the ECNL conference winners play the DA conference winners, and let the losers play the losers, and so on down the line. |
That’s a big statement. Go watch a few of the local 05/06 teams and report back. |
| FCV 05 isn’t even the best 05 team in Northern Virginia. No horse? Sure. |
I'm sorry but no top team in the nation loses 7-0. Try again next year |
SoCal Blues best teams in the older ages are ECNL. They are coached by the Baker brothers who also coach one of the best high school teams in the country. Most of that high school team’s players are from their club which is why the Bakers choose to play their teams in ECNL. ALL of SoCal Blues’ national team players are on their ECNL team. Check the rosters. |
Then what does that say about the WNT U20s, who fell 6-0 to the Netherlands last year? |
Dumb statement by someone who knows nothing about youth sports. Yes, top teams do lose badly on occasion - especially middle schoolers. If it becomes a pattern, then you have a point. Anyhow, back to main topic ... ECNL and DA have dilluted the rest of travel, which many years ago dilluted rec. It all ends up in more pay for play and a dilution of consistent competition at each talent level. Not sure if ECNL is winning or DA. Feels like in NoVa, on girls side, the DA is winning the marketing battle slightly, but given these teams are afraid to play each other out of fear of recruitment, who knows for sure. One thing is for sure, they are all lining up to take parent’s money. |
Madelyn Desiano was on last year's DA team, she is on the YNT roster, and she is going to UCLA. Riley Gleason is on the YNT and she is on this year's U17 DA team. Josephine Master is also on the YNT and also on the U17 DA team. |
Dude, you are dense, aren't you? Desiano graduated last year, so not sure why you're bring her up. SoCal Blues' OLDER teams are their top teams THIS YEAR. Gleason is an '03 as is Master, so they are not on the top OLDER teams. The best 01s in the club play on the U18/U19 ECNL team, and they place their best 02s on the ECNL composite team. A quick scan of SoCal Blues older team rosters has these players on the ECNL composite team: Trinity Rodman(UCLA/GNT) Alexandria Wright(UCLA) Reilyn Turner(UCLA/GNT) Reezyn Truk(USC) Aislynn Crowder(UCLA/GNT) http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague.com/member-clubs/?view=teamDetails&teamId=12754 And these players on the U18/U19 ECNL team: Jennifer Alvarado(UCLA) Isabella D'Aquila(Santa Clara/GNT) Ryan Campbell(Uncommitted/GNT) Kendyll Fritts(UCLA) Jordyn Gaither(UCLA/GNT Samantha Williams(Stanford) http://www.eliteclubsnationalleague.com/member-clubs/?view=teamDetails&teamId=3012 Just about every girl on those two teams are committed to high level D1 schools, but I only listed a few of the top players. Their GDA teams in those age groups are their second teams. |
Pretty sure I said she is going to UCLA. Sounds like you have a reading comprehension problem. I'm not going to spend hours researching it. You said all the YNT players were with the ECNL. I just showed they aren't. That's all I needed to do. Is the talent still in both leagues? Yes. I don't deny the ECNL has talent, but you want to deny the DA does. The ECNL still has pull, especially in the older age groups. Even with that pull, the DA has drawn in top talent. |
The post you quoted started with "SoCal Blues best teams in the older ages are ECNL." Who has the reading comprehension problem? LOL. |
And I listed players from older age groups. LOL |
You listed 03's and a college student.... those girls aren't in the older age groups at SoCal Blues THIS YEAR. Man, you're more dense than I originally thought. |
Yep, I sure did. The 03s are playing U17. They are in high school. |
