Moms who nursed and used cannabis

Hmm. I'm curious as to these groups of highly successful people who still smoke pot around the barbecue.

My friends don't do that. And we're successful, educated people in our 30s and 40s. And no one talks about it either. I don't know what they all do behind closed doors but it's just not something that ever comes up. No one is bringing pot over when we have a dinner party or a barbecue and I don't see it when we go out either. We all grew up and left that behind a long time ago.

I wonder if it comes down to personalities attracting similar personalities and that reinforces the concept that what you're doing is normal, when it's not.

Anyway, OP is crazy if she isn't a troll.

Don't think you are ready to be a mother with an attitude like this about the risks to your baby's brain development

It's definitely personality and not age. I guess no one here has Hippie/former Hippie parents? Mine are in their 60s, professionals who hang out with other professionals (lawyers, doctors, PhDs, executives, etc.) and they smoke at dinner parties. They're all in their 60s-70s with various aches and pains starting to crop up, so some of them use for that as well. They really like all the fancy edibles that weren't around back in their day.

Designated driver like you would for alcohol. Or they stay the night, generally as part of a weekend away at someone's vacation home.

Fair enough.

OMG. Are you 14? I don’t care how much you dislike formula. It’s better for your baby than pot. If you are addicted enough to have an infant and not be able to abstain, get drug treatment. And if you are immature enough to even ask that question, give your kid a bottle and Grow TFU.

no, what mold? Lots of diversity in cannabis use.

...but very little diversity in the population of people who would even consider risking their child's health and wellbeing by exposing them directly, just so they can get high

This is assuming that the only reason someone would use cannabis is to "get high"
What about people who use for chronic pain relief? Or as an anxiolytic? The drugs "approved" to use in breastfeeding for those conditions are few and far between...and usually the consensus is that if the benefits to the mother outweigh the potential risks to the baby, they are recommended. Why should cannabis be any different?

Because OP isn’t saying she is in chronic pain or needs medical THC. I took prescribed medication while pregnant. And it was a careful risk benefit analysis with my doctors. Wrongly, IMO, there is almost no research out there on the risk benefit analysis with THC and pregnancy and breastfeeding. Usually drug are classified by potential harm to pregnancy and women who must take them when pregnant are monitored, and shot and long terms problems for them and their baby are monitored. All drugs taken in pregnancy are not created equally. For example, I was moved to an older medication because the I was on before trying to get pregnant was too new for good data. The only one was less effective, but O could manage. And it had a long track record in pregnant women.

With pot, there are no long term studies because there is no federal approved use. So there is no way to know if benefits outweigh risks.

I think you need to grow up! I would hope and pray that you do not do anything to harm your child. If you must smoke pot, use formula!
