Unfortunately, that can be said of a lot of clubs.

Oh you are talking about Jahon. Coached 06 and TD for 07 - 10 girls. No comment. We left.

I see. So you have a personal gripe with a particular coach. That happens.

Do you have a reading problem? I said, "no comment." If you are defensive because your MYS DD is in good graces there, it was a systemic problem and you know full well about the dysfunction.

And if you are really interested in personal gripes, then there are enough families you can find around the DMV if you ask around. You can discount them all you want, but OP is asking about 06 girls and younger, and how they are doing. Well, their TD is a pretty big factor to explore first if you think McLean is a positive place for a girl to develop before ECNL begins.

No, not mad. Just setting the record straight after your implication. I'm simply saying do your due diligence.

Curious, are you on the BOD, or with staff? You seem pretty defensive. Is this because you are part of the problem, looked the other way too long?

I doubt he is on the staff; his comments seem relatively benign.

The best thing for anyone reading this thread to do is to talk to Clyde and the coaches, schedule some time to go to the practices and/or games and talk to parents. That will be your best bet at getting good information on the program.

Often times on this forum you see comments from jaded parents who have personal gripes and in a few cases posters who use multiple identities to smear entities such as these elite clubs and US Soccer to paint the general picture of the world as they see it.

I'm not saying the poster above is necessarily trying to do this, but unfortunately the cases that have presented themselves thus far make it hard to discern those with legitimate concerns from the deceivers.

The phrase "personal gripes," when referring to the poster who explained why her DD and many of her teammates left McLean, does not ring true. When there is a mass exodus from a particular team/age group, there is usually more than a trivial problem.

lol, the whole "deceivers" term was a little too much don't ya think? Mclean brass needs to shut their pie holes.

everyone knows 06 was a screw up because of him

McLean is a very good club with a strong history. Clearly, some posters are upset with a particular coach over something specific. I get it. It bothered them enough that they felt the need to leave. Not the first time a situation has come up like that, nor will it be the last.

But the club is much bigger than that. Many players have been and will be continue to be developed by them. I encourage people to get to know the club and not worry about the drama being posted on some anonymous board by who knows what with clearly a personal agenda.

and what I mean by "not the first time a situation has come up like that, nor will it be the last" is that every club has faced that at one time or another.

mclean used to be one of the only 2 ECNL teams around. The landscape has changed.
Anonymous
True. They also have girls DA now so some players would migrate to DA clubs as well. I am not taking the sides in ECNL vs DA debate, it's just the reality that there are two league options now.

There is one poster here who had their prior posts removed, yet still promotes MYS and tries to ignore the warts. Does he/she even have a DC there? If they did, they wouldn't be so cavalier and try to lump it all into NO BIG DEAL. No other local club has this problem in the girls side. Fix it McLean.

Why do you keep posting here if you claim all of this is drama to be ignored? I know my DCs have a longer history in this club then you, so quit implying it is no big deal. You promoted the guy.
