What does it mean to “ban” abortion?

This is the goal for the pro-birthers. They want women home baking cookies instead of realizing their potential.

Liberals just need something to be upset about these days. We’re a million miles away from Roe being overturned. Even if it is, abortion will become state by state. Do you honestly believe places like NY or CA or NJ ever turn red enough that no abortions will be offered anywhere?

As for --- OMG poor people can’t afford that. Give me a break, I’m having a very hard time believing the Harvard educated, raised in Greenwich/Long Island biglaw women I work with are soooo personally concerned about ghetto black women or rural Indiana white women. And let’s be honest, how many abortions does the average women get in a lifetime? Across all women, I bet it’s 0. But even if I’m wrong and it’s 1 or 2. I’m sorry if you need to get rid of a kid, 2x in your life, you will borrow from your baby daddy or a get pay day loan, get yourself on a greyhound bus and a motel 6 room and get it done. This is America, not rural Africa or South America; even poor people have access to credit cards – charge it all and pay it back for years, you’ll still get what you need. And if you don’t have credit, see above re pay day loans. It’s not THAT big of a deal.

Conservatives are pragmatists. They don't like abortion, so they tend not to have them. They also recognize the tremendous value in keeping the numbers of liberals in check that abortion provides. Margaret Sanger knew what she was doing when she founded PP.

OFGS. You obviously don't know anyone who works at an abortion clinic. Plenty of tales of women who are protesting one week and the next come in to get an abortion and then go right back out to protesting.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/i-helped-women-get-abortions-for-28-years--through-protests-and-shifting-rules/2018/05/25/4f680826-5eb8-11e8-a4a4-c070ef53f315_story.html?utm_term=.ef35f500cccc

We even treated some of their [protesters] family members — more than once, people who picketed later came in with their pregnant daughters for abortions. We never chastised them for it.

Just because your capacity for empathy is broken doesn’t mean everyone’s is. We are not all so hateful and ignorant as you.

You know how one can prevent that? Not letting a guy put it in when you're in high school. I'm not for abstinence only and I do think there are medical/criminal reasons for abortion, but let's be honest if any particular high school girl is soooo worried for her future bc she fears a condom will break and she wouldn't be able to get an abortion -- would it be the end of the world to not start sleeping with people until after high school??

Why is it ignorant and hateful? Aren't there financial solutions there to get an abortion if you need it? What the gov't has to provide the abortion AND make it as convenient as possible for you?

Hey, I get it. I didn’t have sex till college.

But making a mistake in high school shouldn’t condemn someone to poverty for life.

DP.
Yeah, you’re broken. Abortion is part of women’s healthcare, like it or not. It’s not reasonable to expect women to have to travel across the country, after arranging childcare, for healthcare. Women who need abortions in certain parts of the country already have to do this, and it is absurd and un-American. It is inherently misogynistic.

It’s been a while but I seem to remember that high school boys might play a role here too...

But answer the question -- if abortions are available somewhere, why is it also required that it must be as easy as possible for you to get one? Why is it tragic if you have to inconvenience yourself to get one?

Really? If they're putting it in without consent -- as I say above there's criminal reasons for an abortion then. But if a girl is letting them put it in knowing a pregnancy could result if no protection is used and/or if protection fails, the boy is burdened how exactly? Is he carrying the pregnancy and breastfeeding the kid? And I say this as a parent of daughters -- we all know girls carry the burden here, no matter how charming/convincing a boy may be.

Why must everything be provided to you AND be convenient? How about it (in this case abortion) is provided BUT you inconvenience yourself to avail yourself of one? What exactly is so absurd there?

Yes, let’s continue to absolve them of any responsibility. Good idea.
