And now I know you're a troll. |
because OP is a creepy troll. who likes to post stuff like this under the pretense of being concerned parent, |
You would handle this by speaking to your 11 year old like he's 5? |
NP. I wouldn't say these exact words, but I also thought OP was going to describe something violent, or with animals, or even body fluids. I could see being surprised, curious, freaked out, not wanting to look (I guess), but FRIGHTENED? That seems like an odd reaction to me. My kids are mixed gender and close in age. DH walks around naked a lot. They'd have been surprised to see a female body with a penis, but I can say with absolute certainty that they wouldn't have been frightened. We'd have had a talk about adult content on the internet, and possibly about trans people, but I'd have been really relieved that was all they saw. In fact, I'd prefer they see an image like this than a standard naked lady in some submissive pose. |
I believe you, Op. All he had to do was type the word MINTS with an extra TS at the end and up pops that image. The kid made a typo MINTSTS. Maybe he typed MINTSTSTSTS by mistake and deleted the middle TS's and inadvertently left the last TS there.....MINTS TS. It's really not that hard to see how this could have happened. The point is that a kid can google something pretty tame and wind up seeing something completely inappropriate. |
| I'm wondering what you all google on a regular basis that this is what came up when you google "MINT TS." Even with Safe Search turned off, everything that comes up for me is about mint plants and computer programming. I haven't seen a hint of the image the rest of you are talking about. |
You people are bizarre. I am not a troll. Not everyone who posts about something crazy happening in their lives is a troll. Someone else first posted about what the link showed. Someone else used the word "dick". This actually happened to my kid and he really was shocked and upset by it. He had no context for the image. Stuff happens in life and I'm glad your kid hasn't been exposed to something he wasn't ready to see. He has moved on but it's something we will keep an eye on and talk about as he wants to. I am not going to take this opportunity to give him a treatise on all the sexual variants available on the internet. |
I agree with the bolded. The OP's son is around the corner from puberty, while shocking I don't understand why the image would illicit tears. |
Actually it is clear that the link is not bringing up mint candy. Have you actually Googled it? I think it was a prank personally. Kids are always sending around these links as that bring up offensive and extreme images as jokes. |
Fair enough. |
This is exactly. My kid is not a great typist or a particularly great speller, for that matter. He typed some random thing and boom. It can happen. It's the internet world we live in. I don't let them use my laptop most of the time but I wanted him near me to make sure he stayed on task (fail). Why'd that item show up in my google list? How the hell do I know? It did. I hope your kids are spared this longer than mine was. |
Sure. Jan. You got 5 pages be proud little troll! |
It was the first google hit for me. |
Oddly enough, when I google it now that is what comes up for me, too - mints and computers. And, no, I do not google porn sites. I would be far more likely to google mint plants and computers. Still, the first time I googled it, that pornographic link popped up first. |
| I think OP is MINT TS's talent agent..I know it got me to searching... |
