Not everyone who posts about something crazy happening in their lives is a troll. Someone else first posted about what the link showed. Someone else used the word "dick". This actually happened to my kid and he really was shocked and upset by it. He had no context for the image. Stuff happens in life and I'm glad your kid hasn't been exposed to something he wasn't ready to see. He has moved on but it's something we will keep an eye on and talk about as he wants to.
