This. It hurts our quest for representation equal to other Americans because they think we're a bunch of corrupt idiots. Not that corruption takes away any other Americans' right to representation, of course.

Let’s not jump to talk ash conclusions.

How about he sends his kid to Ballou as an alternative. That would be a step in regaining my trust.

Nope, back to Dunbar where he belongs. Sorry, he got into an already in-demand school, and after "having problems" where EVERYONE ELSE'S only choice would be to stick it out or go back to your IB, his son gets a placement OOB at Wilson? Why did he even need to ask for assistance??? Ellington wasn't working? You go back to your IB. Sorry your $300k+ salary and bonus didn't buy you the sense to live in a neighborhood with a school feed you approved of.

Or break your lease/put your house up for sale and move. It's costly folks, but that is the cost of living in a city one one viable, non-application public HS. He wants to regain my trust. Thenn move IB NOW or pull your kid out.

Nope. Dunbar or GTFO.
If he’s willing to break rules to avoid sending his kid there then why should anyone else want to?

Or, if he’d prefer to upend his housing situation to avoid Dunbar then why shouldn’t we all?

Sounds like the chancellor's daughter will not be staying at Wilson.

Funny thing about that...

I taught at Ballou when he came on as chancellor. He had his daughter follow a student around for the day while he tried to decide where to send her. She said that she was touring a few other schools. I thought it was interesting that he was bold enough to do that when Fenty had been chided for using special preference for his kids. Perhaps no one told him.

I’d like to know if his daughter went through the application process to get into Ellington to begin with. What is her “art?”

I'm actually surprised he seemed to have followed the rules with his younger two kids, who apparently matched at JO Wilson.

How about if you keep it classy and don't discuss people's minor children at all? The kid didn't do anything wrong.

Look, I wish we weren't in bound for Dunbar, but rules is rules.
