DC Public and Public Charter Schools
It was discussed in the Wash Post story. |
How about Ellington's admissions process gets a review too. First all the Maryland kids and now this? |
well, OK then. I'm willing to give his anoterh chance then. I wish he would ahve added that to his message. And this recult (kid leaves school) should be a clear warning for others wanting special palcement. if you get caught, you get public scorn and you loose the reward for which you are scorned |
That’s where Kaya sent her spawn. I still remember how the person hired as J.O. Wilson’s Principal interviewed at my child‘s wotp school. Our panel really wanted her but we heard that Kaya took her out of the running for our school and placed her at J O Wilson because she wanted that principal for her children. So she likely recommended JO Wilson to the incoming Chancellor. I personally do not even trust that his children earned those spots for the lottery. |
I stand by what I said. Leave the kid out of it. Talk about what her dad did. Talk about what her dad's boss did. Talk about Ellington if you want to. Leave her and your smarmy air quotes out of it. |
After PK3 it is easy to get in. |
+1 There are plenty of things to criticize about Antwan. Going after his daughter personally just makes you look like a tool. |
| It makes sense now why he never publically addresssed the overcrowding at Wilson HS. To the contrary, he said everything is fine, despite being asked directly about it by current students and parents. Shame on him. |
| Uh, why isn't HE resigning? |
the DME is theoretically taking the heat. When is the next of those community meetings, I wonder? |

Niles was relatively competent. That is loss.
He needs to go. That won't be a loss. |
| Why would it be wrong to confirm if his daughter went through the application and audition process at Ellington? |
From the Washington Post: "Wilson moved from California to lead the school system a year ago. His wife and three children stayed behind and finished the academic year on the West Coast before moving to the District last summer. Wilson went through the school selection lottery to find schools for his children, and his oldest child enrolled in the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in the fall, according to a mayoral administration official briefed on the matter. The family decided that school was a poor fit, and Wilson approached Niles about the matter. The administration official said Wilson, knowing strict rules govern school placement, had his wife speak and coordinate with Niles. Wilson’s daughter was transferred to Wilson High, a high-performing neighborhood school in Northwest with a wait list. His daughter’s last day at Wilson was Friday." |
It wouldn't be. I objected to the quotes around her "art" and also to the characterization of Henderson's children as "spawn." These are children. You are presumably adults. Act like it. |
| This reflects poorly on Biwser’s ability to pick good people. |
