An informed, thoughtful and objective post: thank you! You stated my own thoughts about Obama way better than I could have done - and I voted for him both times. |
Well said. |
He did? You ha e period someone else doesn’t, so far no proof of anything, just what’s in your mind |
Who cares what Obama was like he's gone.
Gotta deal with the terrible two-year old ithat's in office right now. |
Every seat of power attracts people who think very well of themselves. Obama and every other President has had boundless self-confidence. The difference is how they wield it. Obama will go down in history as a successful President. Trump will not. |
+1 We will see who gets invited to the royal wedding. ![]() |
Great assessment of Trump. Now what do you think about Obama, the subject of this thread? |
Yes. The key is that even if both are clinical narcissists (and I don't think Obama is), Trump's brand of narcissism is particularly harmful. Quite literally hard to distinguish it from psychopathy. |
Yes, but the Obamas will be put with her side of the family. |
No one can harm Cameron more than Cameron harmed himself. |
Lol I see you can't put 1 +1 together. A true Trump follower huh? Peep this slow brains...Teddy Roosevelt was narcissistic and self-absorbed, Andrew Jackson was narcissistic and self-absorbed, John F. Kennedy was narcissistic and self-absorbed, and yes...Barack Obama was narcissistic and self-absorbed. Not exactly an uncommon character trait for leaders of the free world. But as I intimated, I'd take em all over the present prick in office. They were all adults at the very least. |
Yes, we read you quite clearly. "Affirmative action baby." Bet you spent half your paltry supply of neurons thinking that one up. Gee, what is it about him that makes you think he rose simply because of others handing him undeserved positions and honors rather than through his particular abilities and motivation? Perhaps his skin color? Wow. So original. I'm sure you're happy to belong to the coterie of other slobby thinkers who can't get past the ancestry of any successful AA. |
Who are undoubtedly more fun, accomplished, and interesting. |
I generally agree: i.e., Obama is very smart, but likely not as smart as he thinks he is. That same criticism (not as smart or effective as you think you are) applies to most people, and especially to most powerful people I've known. I don't get the sense that Obama was any more or less guilty of that sin than anyone else in a similar position. I do get the sense that Cameron's ex-deputy who made this comment was looking to grind a political axe, so I don't put much stock in what he said about Cameron's feelings. I also suspect that Cameron himself is not immune to these same feelings of believing he's smarter and more effective than reality suggests, so to the extent he actually was feeling annoyed with Obama, it may well have risen from frustration that he himself was being overshadowed (i.e., Cameron's own pride and feeling that he was smarter than he really is). |
No, I've seen what affirmative action does to promising kids -- first it makes them lazy, and then it makes them narcissistic. These kids get an easy pass simply for offering a "perspective." |
