Panera Bread is so gross, how did this place ever become a "thing"?

Do you want to be fat? Because eating a bready sandwich every day will make you fat.

Where did PP say that she went there every day?

They have a really good broccoli cheddar soup. At least, it was really really good and now it's very thick but every now and then I like to indulge .

They used to be better. When my kid went to Princeton, it was pretty much the only fast food place on Nassau Street so we ate there sometimes when we were i n a hurry. It wasn't as bad as the ones in DC

Yeah it has definitely gotten worse. I remember maybe 10 years ago, they were a good catering option, but their quality has plummeted and there are more alternatives now that offer a better product. I see their stuff a lot less at lunches.

They were great 10 years ago. They used to have some really good menu items AND it was noticably cheaper than it is today.

For those who say that it is no better than the fast food chains, the problem is that at the fast food chains, you have no option that is under about 800-2000 calories. While a lot of Panera is that way, not all of it is. And they post the calorie counts of their food right on the menu board. If you are looking to cut calories, you can find options that are 300-500 calories for a meal. There are soup and salad combinations with an apple instead of bread that will keep you under 400 or 500 calories. You can't find that at McD's, BK or Wendy's. And you most definitely aren't finding that at 5Guys and the gourment burger places (Elevation Burger and such).

Go back to your Soul Cycle and Larabars.

I don’t like it either OP. It’s not good. The coffee is fine though.

I like a few of the menu items and it's convenient. I'm not expecting anything too special there, just a decent soup and salad.

A cheeseburger, small fries and a small Coke at McDonald’s is 660 calories.

Often they bring it into my office when we have mandatory training and I wont even eat it if its free. It is N-A-S-T-Y. I'd much rather go hungry than eat that dumpster fire excuse for food.

Im a devoted calorie counter and log every bite that hits my lips. If you avoid the soft drinks, it is very easy to easy to find a fast food lunch for 500cal.
