Years back they had both DC and median scores for HGC.
I think both middle and HS magnets had neither for those that got in. |
Never proven but Yays seems to come first..we'll see if anyone reports a rejection today. |
I was interested in the score as well. But, it's not there.
|
It says: You will receive the result of CPHG assessment in a separate mailing.
|
| We just received a letter that our child was placed in the wait pool. Is that the same as rejection? Are all the students who took the test placed in the wait pool if they didn't get in? |
|
From past experience, i wouldnt think Rejection and wait pool are alike.
And wait pool is a limited group with a chance of Acceptance |
Just received our letter from Barnlsey HGC - rejected Not even wait list. So that answers the question of whether rejections go out at the same time as acceptances.
I'm heartbroken and honestly flabbergasted. He scored 232 on his 2nd grade MAP-P test - I was told it was the highest the school had seen for 2nd grade. His 3rd grade teachers told me he fit the definition of what they consider a truly gifted child. Not sure if we will appeal or not. Good luck to everyone else who is waiting on their decisions today. |
| I have twins and just received the letter only for one of them today. Talk about torture! It was a no. Love how they don't say no, "just that the current school will meet his needs." |
Sorry..do they still put the scores and the average of accepted kids in the letter. That might give you an idea. Some kids are better at the 2nd grade test than the 3rd grade test which is much more time sensitive. Don't be heartbroken..the HGC are still MCPS..it is not educational perfection. |
They are sending testing results in a separate mailing |
| Got my kid's rejection letter today. Well, at least we know. |
| Waitlisted at cold spring. Wish they included the scores. I get that they are sending them, but what is the point of sending them separately? |
Extra torture |
Did they mention when the scores will be coming? Makes you wonder if they are delaying sending the scores to mitigate appeals. |
No mention of date. I agree that it is to make appeals more difficult- especially since we know they are taking a more subjective approach to letting children in. |
