And your point? He's still pathetic and you know it. |
It's not, and it doesn't intend to be. Which law are you citing, that says that we need to educate a "child"? |
My point is that it's not valid to say that everybody thinks he's pathetic, based on the opinions of the people who went to the meeting. As it happens, I don't think he's pathetic. So in fact, not everybody thinks he's pathetic. And I believe that I know more about my own opinions than you do. What, exactly, did you want him to say? |

House Judicary Chairman is now involved- he's asked Secretary Kelly Department of Homeland Security to get involved to investigate background of suspects. The Feds are taking this on, so yeah Smith is toast.

Hallelujah. Now there's hope. |
How does this make smith toast, and how will this stop rapes occurring in HS? |
He's toast because he's getting flamed for not handling this properly. Hogan slammed him and Spicer cared more. Parents are outraged and so is anyone else following this story nationally. I was at the meeting. I've never seen anyone more indifferent to such a heinous crime. He doesn't care. You've gotta care to make changes. The BoE will either fire him or force him to step down. |
The tweet has been removed. What changes can Smith make that are not illegal? |

Fox 5 News reported this- go to their their twitter homepage. Anyway here's what he could have done- tighten up the documents required. No proof of age, identity. These were unaccompanied minors, check the ICE status of everyone coming into the school system. They don't even have an address for one of the suspects. Tighten security in schools- more cameras more full time security officers. Eliminate or constant patrol of all high risk security areas like this secluded bathroom. Night school for this population-- 18 yr old freshman. A buddy system where at least two children are always travellibg together throughout the halls. I can think of more, but he's the one collecting 275k of our tax dollars and the best he could do was try to sweep this under the rug. |
+1 you got that right. |

Legally, the district is required to educate "children". The guy was 17 when he came here so he wouldn't have been able to go to night school. Homeless American kids also don't have addresses. You want HS kids to have a buddy system? Did you when you were in HS? I didn't, and I went to a HS that had real gang bangers and illegal immigrants, and no one was raped or murdered. The HS had five security officers, but I don't know where they were at the time. I do think having bathrooms in secluded areas are not a good idea. Was this bathroom in a secluded area? |
