Well, yes. But that's not because of what he said at the meeting. It's because of who went to the meeting.

That he intended to break federal law and ban undocumented children, or the children of undocumented parents?

That's obviously what folks want, but he can't say that because he can't do that.

We want these adult criminals to be offered evening classes.
What part of that don't you understand?

What adult criminals? Nobody is a criminal yet. Innocent u til proven guilty and these guys were both minors when they entered the school system, and neither had any sort of criminal record or even contact with the police prior to this. You can't just randomly assign people to adult classes. If it's even Constitutional.

When he crossed the border he became a criminal

Except that the law was enforced I'm my case.

And the first time you drove faster than the speed limit you became a criminal. So we're all criminals.

Further probably not publicly flaunting and basing my identity on breaking that law

It was? Every time you've ever sped, you've received a speeding ticket? That's certainly very unusual.

That fact that at least one of the defendents entered our country illegally already makes him a criminal.

Not the PP but I want older teens who are uneducated and can't speak English (basically those who meet the METS criteria) to not be in the same high schools as our children. THey should be offered night classes or go elsewhere. There are 500+ of them in 12 High schools in the county. This needs to change. Especially if they can't properly be vetted. I think this is reasonable.

Do you really believe this man raped because he didn't speak English?

Seriously? Why does it have to always come back to this? Don't you get it? We don't want our children to be put at risk by being in the same schools as ADULTS who arw not here legally and cannot be vetted. Why are we being demonized for wanting safe schools???

Do you or do you not believe that this man raped because he is an illegal immigrant?

You make it sound like all unauthorized immigrants run around with T-shirts on saying "I AM AN IMMIGRANT WITHOUT PAPERS, THAT'S WHO I AM, SO THERE, HA".

Do we know he was not brought here as a child?

No, it doesn't. For one thing, violating an immigration law is a civil offense, not a criminal one. For another, there's due process. But if you want to define the word "criminal" to mean "anybody who has broken any law", then you'll have a lot of trouble finding anybody over the age of 16 or so who isn't a criminal.

What would he have to have said, and/or what would he have to have done, in order for you to find him non-pathetic? Please be specific.

No. Being in the country illegally is a civil offense. Crossing over the border without documentation is a criminal offense. The suspect entered illegally, he committed a crime and is a criminal. Guess you should have read more before you posted your stupid response.

+1 Didn't they try that in AL or somewhere? Courts struck them down.

If you want the county to follow federal law and report illegal immigrants that they arrest to ICE, then they should also follow the federal law that states that public schools must educate a child regardless of immigration status. Yes, that is the law. You don't get to pick and choose which federal laws you follow. And for the record, no, I don't think MoCo should be a sanctuary county. They should report illegal immigrants who are arrested to ICE.

However, I would argue that an 18 yr old is not a child, so we shouldn't be having 18 to 21 yr olds in HS, regardless of immigration status. If they turn 18 while in HS, fine; they should be able to finish it. But, since the law only states that the we need to educate a "child", then why do we need to allow 21 yr olds in HS?
