Yorktown teacher charged with exposing himself to teens at McLean gym

Wow. Very sad for these boys and their families who aren't even in this teacher's school district. I think most parents want to hear more about what the boys saw the teacher actually doing.

Also, the PP complaining about people and the media reporting/judging this teacher based simply on his arrest and thereby ruining his career . . . give me a break, instead of taking this thread down from the top of the forum and letting it die, you keep highlighting it and perpetuating it with your awful comments that do make it appear as if you are friends with the teacher, or even the teacher himself.

There are a range of possible scenarios - from it's all true to it's a false accusation. There will be no video for obvious reasons. Hopefully for all parties, there is some way to corroborate (or not) the accusation.

The DA may drop the charges, or charge and prosecute. We don't know, and we and the school administration are all waiting. Perhaps a news outlet will interview the two teenagers and their families to get their side of the story out before participants in forums like this make it worse for the kids' reputations (with their own McLean teachers) by questioning their motives to report a teacher in this setting. Obviously both the gym staff and police found them credible enough to justify the independent steps they took. These posters on here piling on the two McLean teenagers and supporting the teacher (without any facts) are horrible.

If the kids were students or former students, would you as a former teacher (or current teacher) think to yourself: "crap I'm naked, I need to remedy this for my own protection" and cover up or get out of there?

If the teens and the teacher didn't know each other, why would they target a random naked guy in the locker room on that particular evening, if as men here say, it's common for most men to linger around the locker room totally naked as the day they were born? Nakedness is to be expected, so it has to be more than that. I would hope that authorities have more to go on, before releasing his name/photo to the public.

that is how the legal system works
teachers are held to a higher standard, kids identities protected, and adults who get arrested go on the FCPD police blog with a pic

If he is innocent, I hope he lawyers up and sues the teens, their parents, the school district, etc. Btw, this is a good reason not to go to gym. Any prepubescent kid can point at you, lie and you lose your job, life, family. This is some fucked up shit. Even with probable cause, it's only been hours and there's no way authorities had time to conduct proper investigation and determine guilt. I'd sue the police department as well if they did anything wrong. Fact is that even if the teens recant their story, this man is ruined. Search engines have a long memory and he'll always be cast as a pedo.

Not to mention that the 16 yo and 17 yo accusers were apparently showering together.
Kind of hard to make a "pedo" argument -- in most places, 16 is the age of consent, anyway. It's not like he was leering at 7 yo boys.

We don't know what happened. But my "oh, bullshit" radar goes off when this has to do with a man being naked in a gym locker room. It's absolutely possible something untoward happened. It's equally possible there's a misunderstanding or the teens made a wrong/false accusation for some reason.

Link for this? If true, kind of changes the equation a bit.

Someone posted previously that the teens were showering together as if they were homesexual or doing something sexual? Without any source? Are the showers there open or closed? Some of you people seem sick. The families of these boys are going to rip you a knew one.

I know. My point was addressing the bolded. The teens are t exactly being maligned since their identity is a secret.

How do you know the boys don't attend Yorktown?

I don't see anyone saying this teacher may not have done something improper or maligning the youths who reported him. You, on the other hand, have no respect for the concept of innocent until proven guilty, want to prejudge his guilt, and keep making posts that border on the prurient.

anyone advocating for these kids identities to be revealed is not a parent. maligning the "legal system" for protecting them, and the kids themselves for being protected, needs their head examined.

If I were the gym staff or the police, there is no way I would ignore a report like this, no should they. I don't think their judgement really means anything. Crime reported, arrest made. Guilt and innocence is not their job.

No one is saying the teens identities should be released. You people are purposely misinterpreting posts.
