Private & Independent Schools
While the PP's point is silly, it's worth pointing out that there's a big difference between universities and schools where most children are under the age of majority, so there is no such thing as a "consensual" sexual relationship legally. |
You didn't know they where that close. LOL. I know some of the agents on the family detail and you wouldn't Be able to pick them all out if you tried. |
| It is common for kids in their "upper teens" to be engaged in sexual relationships, so sexual assault with a known partner can be an issue in the upper years of high school just as it is in college. Still these kids are young and need to know that they should not get into sexual relationships before they are ready. Given that the incident occurred during the school day, it would seem that alcohol was not an issue. Good for this victim for reporting the crime. |
Do any parents really believe their hormonal HS kid is ready to jump in the sack? |
Oh, please. |
I can't believe you. A teenage girl was likely raped. The "best" outcome here is that a teenage boy was falsely accused. No matter how this turns out, both their lives just took a horrible turn with longterm consequences. And here you are ... focusing on what it means for your admissions situation. You are a selfish pig. I hate you. |
Yep and most of the time there are no devastating consequences. Sex is HS is very common. Many of your friend had sex in HS. |
I agree with the earlier writer. For lots of reasons, kids (and they are still kids) are way too immature to be having sex at this age. It's hard for them to rationalize that what may be consent on a Friday is no longer consent on a Sunday when the same conduct occurs. |
Exactly. |
The best outcome is a false accusation??? Best for who? Do you know anyone falsely accused of rape? Because there is nothing "best" about that happening. Hate me all you want, I don't give two craps. I pray that young woman heals and gets the justice she deserves. However, yes I do feel a bit better about having not been offered a position and paying a deposit for my DC to go there now. |
lol as do i. trust me, they weren't that close. |

Washington Post confirms rape at Sidwell School

I want to set some ground rules for this thread. First and foremost, do not provide any information that may be even remotely identifying of those involved. I don't care if their pictures are on the front page of the Post tomorrow. Their identities will not be disclosed here. Second, any posts that I find to be racist, sexist, classist, or any other thing that ends in "ist" will be removed. Fair warning, my sensitivity meter is turned up to "high". As long as you folks want to blabber about how good you are at recognizing Secret Service officers, you are good to go. But, get too far outside the parameters I've set and this thread will be deleted.

| The SS isn't there to protect anyone but the Obama girls. I hope no one sends their kid to school there thinking because the SS was present that meant safety for everyone. They have one duty, to protect the Obama girls. If they saw two kids go off into parts unknown by themselves they weren't going to follow. |
You do realize the OP posted this link to open the thread up... |
