What is the responsibility of Social Media sites and profiting off of someone with a fatally unhealthy image? Shut it down? Ignore and let her do her thing?

Have you asked about Oprah's responsibility in glamorizing obesity?

How has Oprah glamorized obesity? She's been very public about her own struggles with weight and body image.

This 23 year old woman sits in the back seat of cars because she doesn't meet weight requirements, despite being 5'9", and makes popular videos doing clothing try ons of clothes that clearly show off her severely skeletal body, with no discussion of her eating disorder struggles.

You cannot honestly tell me that this acceptable to broadcast to young girls.

No, it's not acceptable.

The glamorizing of obesity isn't acceptable either.

Both carry serious health consequences.

Ew, she looks like a walking skeleton!

She should model for Victoria’s Secret.

I’m curious as well. Although while she is of course still skin and bones, maybe she alters her Instagram pics like most celebs? I’m not going to give her YouTube channel any views by watching her videos, but for anyone that has, does she look exactly the same in the videos as she does in still photos?

Very sad and disturbing!

How is it that her Instagram and Youtube accounts have not been removed!?

I just looked at her youtube channel. In one her mom bought her tons of new outfits and she was trying them on. Yes, she looks the same as her IG pictures! Why is she not getting some serious inpatient treatment? I can't believe her mom was just going on and on about all these cute outfits she bought her, I was horrified watching that video.

Wow, she looks like a concentration camp victim. So sad. Is she getting any help? Her fishnet stockings are baggy!

Poor girl. Maybe her family also has issues, if they are essentially cosigning her extreme underweight. I hope she gets some help sometime soon, although I know that anorexia in particular can be really tough to treat, given society's reinforcement of being underweight.

Jeez, seeing her pics, I never want to let my 7yo girl on the Internet (yes, I know that's unrealistic). We are from a racial/ethnic group with a low prevalence of eating disorders, but still.

This photo is horrifying. How long can a body go on like that?

Her mom probably sees her popular Youtube channel as family income. Eugenia's brother is morbidly obese, so there are clearly some deeply rooted family issues on two ends of the extreme.

Eugenia is an adult, but lives at home and is dependent on her family - so it's insane that her parents don't mandate her to get treatment. They help her film, participate in her videos, drive her around, etc.

I'm honestly flabbergasted how she's survived like this for so long. It's like a medical anomaly.

How does she still have such thick hair?
