Eugenia Cooney - glamorizing anorexia?

As a PP said, anorexia is just as sad as obesity and just as likely to kill you sooner or later.

Yet people in this country:
1. Say we shouldn't fat-shame.
2. Thin-shame all the time.
3. Strive to diet.
4. Eat their face off.

??????

I use to be too thin and received SO many comments about it yet we are told not to fat shame. Let’s include thin shaming in that too.

I had a GI disease and that caused fear of food, so I did have a health issue. No one would shame me for cancer or heart disease…

She's a 30 year old woman, with a mother that isn't concerned with her getting help.

She sits in the back seat of the car while her mom drives her around to do her "photoshoots." Her mom takes all the photos and videos, many of which are fetish content requested by creeps and pervs. And posts them.

SHE IS 30. It's more than just sad, the family dynamic is disturbing.

She lives the saddest life and her mother clearly is abusing her. She's 30 and behaves and is treated like a child. The video where she and her mom bake a cake is horrifying. The woman has a serious ED and she and her mom are giggling about baking a cake. So awful. She needs help. Clearly isn't or doesn't want it and is just wasting away. Youtube should suspend her channel.

Something is obviously very amiss and I'm glad she has survived this long.

Oh man, just looked at some images of her. Terrifying. I hope she can get help soon.

Even morbid obesity is less lethal than anorexia, are you for real?

The average statistical effect of obesity on mortality is a total lifespan reduction of 3-10 years. There are many obese people who are otherwise relatively healthy including metabolically and there are plenty of regular weight people who are metabolically unhealthy.

10% of anorexia patients die within 10 years of diagnosis, and 20% are dead within 20 years. It is typically an early onset illness in terms of age so quite clearly a much more fatal disease than obesity. Anorexia is the highest fatality rate of any mental disorder.

She looks amazing. I would be that thin if I could do it and look as pretty as her.

Different strokes. But objectively, it's surprising she's still alive. She looks like she's one common cold away from death.

While I find abhortent the double standard that we pretend that obesity is healthy and thinness is harmful, I've also watched Eugenia for years, upset that she's clearly on death's door. Just last year, someone I know died of an eating disorder. It's like watching someone with terminal cancer.

ugh disgusting. she would quite gorgeous if she weighed a normal weight, but this is just horrific. her bones are practically popping through her skin. It's painful just watching her move. I don't know how she is still alive.

Her arms are disturbing. YouTube she not give her a platform.

I should never have clicked on that Instagram. Now I have ads popping up right here on DCUM about fasting and weight loss. Sick.

I really don't like being able to see the entire bone and elbow socket. How is she even standing with 0.00000002% muscle?

Every time this thread reemerges I think its because she died. She looks worse than ever :-/
