Why should I have to pay for welfare, public schools, Section 8 housing, etc?

I DONT WANT to pay for these. Here's what I'll say. If you want public education and welfare, personally donate your money to the government, so they can specifically use it on this. You have NO RIGHT to use my money for these things.

As an American, you agree to live under the constitution. That means you agree to obey laws which are judged to be constitutional. Taxes are one set of such laws.

You also agree to accept the authority of the Supreme Court to provide the decisive interpretation of the constitution. So I have to accept Heller, and you have to accept Obergefell. This does not mean we have to believe it is morally right in the eyes of God, or that the court correctly interpreted the law. For example, I believe (and my church teaches) that the death penalty is morally wrong. And I think the the court in Heller erred in discerning the meaning of "well regulated militia". Nonetheless I must accept that it has been determined to be legally right under the constitution.

So no, I do not get to vote on whether you get your weapons. You do not get to vote on whether I marry. And neither of us gets to pick and choose which government expenses we will fund.

I think it is unwise to leave undocumented or immigrant offspring uneducated and at loose ends during the day. Rather than going to school, learning and bettering themselves, they would be shut out of school and working and left to get into trouble. Better, for them and for society, for them to be in school, at the taxpayer's expense.

As a minority conservative who met a lot of immigrants a lot of them dont have the best morals, some can lie about anything to feed off public funds or stay at a job. Basically you are sleeping with a stranger at your job school etc

And yet, so many immigrants have also helped the US economy, especially the high tech industry. There are bad apples in *every* group of people, even those who profess to be Christians.

How about not cheaping out and hiring your own american citizens for the job and pay them a fair wage? a lot of american citizens are unemployed, homeless and a ton of college grads are underemployed

Well, yes, because most young people don't pay much taxes, so why would they care.

I change my mind. I think OP you should move to Hungary or Russia. You could be like the Hungarian camerawoman who tripped a refugee child and another holding his child. You two sound like you are made for each other, though I think she might be married. But, I'm sure you can find more like minded people there. Please, do move there.

i am NOT the op. They don't care and are ignorant yet they STILL vote and basically democrats target these groups and celebrities support them because they have to keep their fans.

Anyone on this forum who knows anything about Hungary, Russia, or Northern Ireland? In one sense, I think Northern Ireland would be the best fit for me because they speak English, and abortion/gay marriage are totally illegal. However, social Liberalism seems like it's starting to infect Northern Ireland. Hungary and Russia are both anti-gay/abortion. Hungarys stance on illegal immigration is very good. The issue with those 2 is that I'd have to learn a new language.

Funny. We had a civilized society before the 16th amendment.

Living in a civil society, we have decided to provide welfare to citizens who need it. We do it partly out of charity and partly because we would feel bad to have people starve and die in the streets. We would no longer feel prosperous as a nation if that happened. We have public education as a foundation of our democratic form of governance, which you know because you've learned this in school.

Well, I'll help the poor on my own, and wth MY own money. The government has no right to TAKE my money and use it for that purpose. If you want to help them, help them yourself. I attend private school. Public schools are a joke.

So what about police and the legal system. How do you feel about themt? I mean the govt is taking your money and putting criminals in jail. If you want criminals in jail not murdering you or trying to sell your kids drugs I think you should pay for a private police force and private jails. And those streets you drive on, well if you want them fixed then I guess you better get some asphalt and watch a youtube video b/c in your world taxes should only pay for things everyone wants and agrees with. I don't drive so I don't care about the roads. You a pretty selfish and self-absorbed person OP.

Why don't you move to another country, OP?

I'm strongly considering it. If the GOP loses this years election, I'm moving 100%. Hungary, Russia, and Northern Ireland are on mt lust.

I'm fairly confident that those countries don't allow you to choose how your taxes are spent, either. And it boggles the mind as to why you would uproot your entire life to move to a country just because they don't allow abortions when you can't have one, and don't allow gays when you won't admit to being one.

People don't choose to be born dumb and poor but it's a national embarrassment to let women and children starve in the streets.

Thus, social programs.

Against public education? So does that mean you feel anyone who can't afford private school should not have children if they can't privately educate them? People like teachers, aides, electricians, construction workers, cooks and nurses who staff, maintain and built the private school you are able to afford?
