Constructive Feedback on Wife's Hair

When "looking attractive to men" is a primary goal for a woman, the hair tends to stay longer. When that's not a goal, the hair often goes away. It's mostly just a matter of priorities.

Maybe they got hair extensions. Healthy hair takes a while to grow out naturally.

Also, a woman who bleaches and straightens her hair is going to have damaged hair eventually.

Shorter hair makes women look younger. That is why older women often cut their hair. Sometimes hair breaks and it just won't grow any longer.

My hair grows like a weed. It's annoying because I color it. I can have short hair in summer and long hair by the end of winter.

Short hair does not make women looknyounger. That is laughable.

Then OP should be happy to know his wife isn't cheating or planning to cheat.

This!!! LOL!

It makes plenty of women look younger. When I cut my hair I went from looking about 21 to looking around 15 years old. Like a child.

I just wish my husband would actually notice my hair! I swear he's blind...I can get it newly colored (highlighted, etc...) and he always says he doesn't see a difference! LOL

Anyway, to OP...good luck some good comments on here. I think your plan to start complimenting when it gets to a length you like is a good strategy...

Right, but you are 45 and busted now.

OP,

DH and I operate on the brutal honesty principle. I would DEFINITELY want to know as soon as poss if I was doing something that he didn't like, and vice-versa.

But from long years on DCUM, I know that others think exactly the opposite, or feel the need to drown their message in cloyingly fulsome sentences.

You know your wife best, OP. If she appreciates honesty everywhere else, you're good to go.

I would want an honest opinion from my DH. My hair length varies and I really am not sure what is more flattering. I recently grew my hair pretty long for a while and just got it cut back to just below my chin. My DH actually won't offer an opinion but my sense is that he actually prefers it shorter. I would never cut my hair really short but as much as I liked the youthful feel of long hair (in my 40s) some people really do look better with less hair. I have a small face and thick dark hair and I think my face stands out more with shorter hair.

Nope. Still 26. You can speak for yourself though

How many of you ladies grew out your hair before your wedding then cut it quite a bit shortly thereafter?

In any case, pretty much nobody cuts their hair short for their wedding. So the idea that it looks more attractive is b.s. When you want to look pretty, the hair gets long.

My husband told me he prefers my hair long, so that's how I keep it. Be honest, but be gentle. Of course, she might have reasons for keeping it short. As women age, their hair thins out. And at some point, you have to cut it.

35 and your time will come, especially of you are white and get that pretty skin of yours out in thr sun. You'll look look like dirt in the desert.

I don't get people on here. We live wih our partner and share the most intimate stuff - physically and mentally and emotionally and we can say "hey love I like your hair longer!" I don't get it! I wouldn't want to live my entire life tiptoeing around stuff. I tell my DH - I prefer you clean shaven or I don't think those pants look great. He tells me I think you like great with short hair or that dress looks like a bag on you! I am really sensitive and get hurt easily but not with this kind of stuff.

Wait! I know, I know! I know the answer for this one.

It's Because the up do options are greater for longer hair. And it's the one time in your life you get to pull off an amazing up do without making people nervous.

Of course, most women aren't armed with two hours of time, a can of Aqua Net, three types of curlers and a professional hairstylist to do their hair for them every morning after their wedding day either.

Dcum wife on one thread -- I will wear my hair the way I want and dress how I want. It's my body and DH needs to accept it!!!!

Short hair makes young women look younger. 35 and up plus or minus a couple years and it makes them look older or like they no longer care about their appearance.
