As a 45 year old skinny woman, should I just give up on ever finding a man who isn't fat?

You and men your age are no longer sexually attractive. What's the point of being so shallow about weight and looks at your age? When are you going to become an interesting human being with something to offer besides being naturally skinny (which is no credit to you personally)?

Stop projecting. Lots of 45 year old people still look pretty damned good.

Lots? Keep dreaming.

Dim the lights, crack open a bottle of wine, put on some music....yep, pretty darned good.

Most people over 45 are overweight. Even "thin" people at that age are usually sort of flabby, in a "skinny-fat" sort of way. A unmarried, lean, athletic man, who has a decent career, is not gay, and is interested in dating a 45 year old women is basically a unicorn.

Your best bet would be to hang out at a gym, or somewhere that older, fit men might be found. Maybe a gold course or a tennis club? Yacht club? Middle-aged rich guys are sometimes thin.

You might also try your hand with younger men, in their 20s and 30s, where being fit is still common, but they're probably going to not want an LTR.

45 and scrawny is not really in demand with the fit gentlemen of America. So, it's pretty likely at this point you'll die a spinster or need to lower your standards.

Take your pick!

Like settling for a mysogynist. OTOH, OP, why not find the beauty on the inside of a man? After all, women on DCUM are constantly asking this of men.

Turnabout is Fair Play!
Signed,
DW your age married for a long, long time

P.S.: Both DH and myself gained weight as we had kids and now we're both losing it together. Allowing a man to be imperfect will allow him to allow you to be imperfect, too. Then you can relax for once.

Most skinny guys suck in bed. Need a guy with a little meat on his bones

OP here. You guys are cracking me up! even if I was flabby and skinny fat, I still wouldn't feel comfortable with a 200 pounder man on top of me! When I fly, I hate when fat passengers take up my seat from their fat hanging over. They should buy two seats!!

OP seems like such a charming, fun person to be around!

NP here. I am male, 50; I am also overweight by about 40 lbs. I know lots of men in my age group, some are overweight, (more than 30 lbs), some are not. Most are either married or divorced, and have kids. They do not have time for someone like you. Our focus is on our children.

OP, what do you consider overweight anyway?

200 is not relevant unless the guy is 5'8 or something. Would you consider Chris Hemsworth too fat? he's about 200. Honestly OP your best bet is to go with a guy much older probably 55 or so. Why would an in shape 40-50 be interested in you ? Find a skinny'ish older with a fatter ish wallet

I bet most of you responding here are overweight.

That's obvious. OP- there are plenty of fit 45+ men. DH is still fit. Pretty much all of the men I work with (lawyers) are fit, even those in their 60s. Your problem is that 45 yo men date 30 yo women. I agree with PPs who suggest looking for older men.

Um Chris Hemsworth is 6'3 and absolutely SHREDDED. Not an apt comparison.

OMG that man is HOT. I don't care if he's 300 lbs.
