Actually, don't the most recent studies show that a little bit overweight is better than under weight as one ages? |
No. Specifically, a diet under 1400 cals a day was shown to increase lifespan. |
| Never? Lol |
| I'm 31 and went from being a little chubby to being thin. If anything I look younger because I have round cheeks. |
And misery. Slghtly overweight people are, in fact, linked with lower mortlity rates: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/02/health/study-suggests-lower-death-risk-for-the-overweight.html?_r=0 |
| love this thread and its so interesting. I am 5'4", and about 10-12 lbs over my pre-baby weight (baby 1, I lost the weight from baby 2) and to be honest, I don't want to lose it. I was really thin before baby #1 and I look younger NOW than I did before baby 1, and I think its the extra fat in my face and body is why. (I also don't mind the little extra junk in my trunk, so much easier to find jeans that look decent!). |
| Everything in moderation . End of story. |
| Mid-thirties. I have to be really careful about eating enough good fats. If I start dipping below a certain weight, I look old. It's actually something I never anticipated as a young person. |
Yes. When combined with exercise it's the healthiest. Which makes sense, considering the additional nutrients a person would be absorbing |
I am not pregnant but I gained about 15 pounds over the past two years. I'm 27, and I look at pictures of myself from 2 years ago and am SHOCKED by how haggard I looked in comparison! I kind of like my figure a bit better without the extra weight, but I get hit on the same amount so I suppose guys don't mind. And since I think most of my attractiveness is in my (admittedly pretty) face, I think it would be dumb to lose any weight. It just looks so much better with the extra pounds. To a shocking extent. I look like I'm back in high school now. |
PP here with the two babies and extra weight that I don't want to lose - DH always mentions how much better I look with weight on me than I did when we got married. in the words of Megan Traynor - men need a little something to hold at night. ;P |
There's skinny and then there's thin and toned. Thin and toned from a bit of weight work and cardio doesn't look bad where skinny looks unhealthy. The worst look is when an older woman has cultivated a deep tan and has skin like leather. |

People are typically thinner when they young, not the other way round. So those who are thinner seem younger, not the other way round. Sorry, guys.

| Depends. If you are white, I think 35. If you are black, maybe 70. |
