You are lower than the dogshit you put in other people's cans. Seriously, YOU are the epitome of every inconsiderate dog owner, you should be publicly flogged, tarred and feathered and your dogs should be taken away from you. |
| Do we really need 60 responses to tell someone not to be a dipshit douchebag? |
This just made my day.
|
yes! because people are that stupid |
|
No.
As already explained small items are not always removed from trash cans which means the poop will stay there until the pissed off owner or wild animal fishes it out. If a wild animal gets into it or if it gets crushed by some larger item your dogs poop will end up everywhere. Again - pissed off owner. Pick it up and find a way to bring it to a public trash can, dog poop receptacle, or your own trash can. |
| What does bringing it to a nearby public trashcan accomplish? If the trash pickup in your neighborhood is as limited as people here are describing, what makes you think it will ever get taken from the public trash bin? If people are really worried about flies and stink and wild animals, then you're still going to get all that on your street if someone drops the dog crap in a public trashcan 30 yards down the street from your house. |
| Spin-off question: What's your reaction if I put my candy bar wrapper in trash can? Am I allowed to do that? |
Be my guest! |
My god, you are so dense. Public trashcans are emptied daily, by a team that only deals with public cans. Residential is only picked up once or twice a week (depending where you live) and it's done by a team that only deals with residential. I mean really. How have you not been hit by a bus yet? I'd think that with your total lack of awareness of your surroundings, you'd be in constant danger. |
| Our can sits in our garage when it's not out by the curb. I don't want my garage smelling like your dog's leftover poop (yes, it will smell through the bag). You're responsible for your mongrel's crap. |
Apparently. And since we're talking about/to dog owners, my hopes for dipshit douchebag reformation aren't high. |
Yeah, although I guess we should be somewhat encouraged that she condescends to pick up her pwecious puppy's poop at all. Dogs certainly seem to be a part of city life these days, I guess because people wait so long to have their actual human children. When I was a kid this just wasn't the case, and cities had strict poop-scooping laws to deter bad owner behavior. Not in the District, I guess. It's too bad, because the dogs themselves are inherently bad neighbors. Neighborhood peace and sanitation depend on dog owners to be considerate enough to compensate for the inherent nastiness and noisiness of their pets. |
Really, idiot #1, picking up after my dog and depositing it in a trashcan is worthy of flogging? Ok, if I knew where you lived, I'd happily leave it on your sidewalk, or better yet, in your yard. As for idiot #2, poop scooping laws require I do exactly what I do, pick up after the dog and deposit it in the trashcan. This is good neighbor behavior and considerate dog owner behavior. You would like this to extend to which trashcan the bagged waste is placed in. The city doesn't care what trashcan I use and I don't either. I will use the nearest available. If you don't like it, lock up your bins on your own property. I won't go into your yard. But if your bin is at the curb, or on the sidewalk and I have a bag, I will not hesitate to use it. If you don't like that, too bad. Have a nice day. |
|
Idiot #2 here. I suppose you're following the letter of the law, but not the spirit of the law. If your animal's poop becomes someone else's problem in any way, you're being incredibly inconsiderate.
I don't have a dog in this particular fight, since my trash is a dumpster that I don;t have to drag or clean (so be my guest if you find yourself in my alley), but I'm really sick and tired of the crap on our streets, the extra long leashes, the occasional absence of leashes, and the expectation that Fifi's slobber won't bother me. For me, the issue is dog owner entitlement, and, although I recognize that at least you do scoop even if you dump inappropriately, I still have to agree when a PP calls you out for being one of THOSE dog owners. |
You sound like someone who has does not own. Once you do, you'll care more and be more respectful of others' belongings as well. |
